Mountain City, TN police officer fired after shooting and pepper spraying a squirrel.

In Mountain City, TN, it gave the officer something to do that afternoon.
Up here, sometimes the police/deputies have to double as animal control.

There is an incredibly bad movie called Idiocracy that everyone should watch. It is a satirical take on what is wrong with the US and where we are headed. While everything is exaggerated for not a lot of comedic effect, it makes a really good point about the dumbing down of America.

The pepper spray affected the squirrel, along with customers, but I can't find out if the squirrel got away or was killed. I've heard no reports of them still looking for the Dollar General squirrel.
