Have ya'll seen this yet?

http://news.yahoo.com/google-street-...123509120.html

The implications are kind of frightening.
I mean, I know the whole Google Earth thing has been around for years, that already had me a bit wonky, but now they can zoom in, really zoom in.
Apparently close enough to find Caterpillars....
Part of me thinks it's pretty cool, but the other part just can't help wondering what other uses this could have.....

It's a bad thing when a corrupt government has access to it .

As long as there are people with smartphones , Face Book, Twitter and the internet , numerous interests and agencies will have unlimited ground drones at their disposal.

Seeing

Someone close to me, that works for the Feds. told me this back in the mid 90's. He said that they had the ability to focus on anything or anywhere they wanted to. He said he's done it. I asked him if he could actually focus on a relatives house, that was far away. He said to tell her to come to the front door and wave. He would be able to see her. This has been going on for a long time.

Google doesn't show my address or house, but Yahoo maps does - not that close, but close enough and I think it's pretty current.

Other countries love it because they've been able to bust people who claimed not to have houses out in the country or something. There was something about it online. Some politicians have been busted....

They love it here, too, to locate illegal swimming pools.

Sandra Spiess, I heard that too, in the nineties. We had a friend who was one of those high IQ geniuses. He told us that we could be watched like that and told me there would be drones that would look like a little birdie sitting on a twig while spying on things.
I enjoy looking at street view. I have looked at all kinds of places all over the world. I would have loved to visit NZ, Scotland, forget it, but I went over places with street view, Milford sound, Teanau, visited Scotland, the Orkneys, drove around Loch Lomond, visited Spitsbergen, etc.,etc., places I will never get to go to. Something nice comes along but like with everything else, it can be used for bad.
