Colorado Governor To Gun-Control Groups ‘Don’t Come Around Here No More’

http://www.ammoland.com/2013/10/colorado-governor-to-gun-control-groups-dont-come-around-here-no-more/

Charlotte, NC - It’s not because John Hickenlooper doesn’t support their cause, mind you, but that their presence has backfired in a big way in Colorado.

The governor tells
USA Today’s Susan Page that it might be a good idea for Michael Bloomberg and his allies to stay out of Colorado:

Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper suggests national gun-control groups stay away from a looming recall battle that could switch control of the state Senate to the GOP. The groups poured money into an unsuccessful defense of two state lawmakers recalled over their gun votes earlier this year.

“Colorado is a state that people like to be themselves and solve their own problems,” the Democratic governor said in an interview with Capital Download, USA TODAY’s weekly video newsmaker series. “They don’t really like outside organizations meddling in their affairs, and maybe the NRA gets a pass on that.

“But (it is) probably not a bad idea” for gun-control groups, such as the one established by New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, to curb their efforts if gun-rights activists collect enough signatures to force a recall vote on state Sen. Evie Hudak, a two-term Democrat from a suburban district north of Denver, he said.

Makes sense. I don't understand why Bloomberg poured gasoline on the fire last time other than the fact he's an FI.

That's the new strategy for the "we know what's best for you" bunch. Drop a bunch of time and money in one state on one issue and it's been pretty successful. Got a bad "animal rights" law passed in Missouri not too long ago.

True believers like Bloomberg think if they just explain their case loud and long enough the stupid people, everyone else, will become true believers too. The can't see how anyone wouldn't acquiesce to their brilliance.

The arrogance on display is astounding.

I call Bloomberg "Balloonberg." Take away that skin of too much money and all you are left with is hot air.

That's the basis for the celebrity endorsement. Just because they're a success in one area doesn't mean they know their from a hole in the ground about anything else. Power and wealth can breed arrogance. Blloomberg is a stellar example.

"Listen to me, I know what's best for you!" : every politician today

Any chance that 'recalling' a representative that the people are unhappy with would work? Would they still get benefits and such if they get recalled?

Depends on at what level they are, and what golden parachutes are available to them. In any case, throw the bums out. If they get a pension it'll be cheaper than keeping them in power.

Well if you've followed CO. gun issues you will find that they recalled 2 of the leading anti gun hacks.. The anti gun hacks lost their recall elections.. The people of CO are upset with the NY style ammo limits and gun ban all promoted by the wanna be tyrant Bloomberg and the money he pumps into their politcal coffers.. Funny thing about that money though, it seems that some of it isn't Bloomberg's to use for his anti gun agenda. But that is a different thread..

So yes depending on your State laws/Constitution you can recall elected officials. Here in PA we can't. We don't have a recall law..

Hick was more than happy to take phone calls, meetings and cash from the New York Mayor and his controlling maniacs. Now, he is running scared. Kicking the last two out of the Senate was a great day for constitutional Colorado folk. Shoving Evie Hudak out the door would be even better. But, she to stupid to know what is going on and just through the Peter Principle will survive! She is one of the most unimpressive individuals I have ever met......in my life.
