Man declared dead but still alive.

And you thought you had problems. The man tried to get a judge to undo the declaration but the time had expired for an appeal. He's still officially dead. That might come in handy. How many work rules apply to the dead? How would the IRS handle that? Can you sue a dead man or just his estate?

I'm wondering if he's voted since he "died."

Bet being declared dead could work out well.. Just say you're an illegal alien then, and you'll get all kinds of free stuff tax free.. .

I'd be MORE concerned about his dog voting . . .

On further contemplation, perhaps canines would do a

much better job and be more informed, than many of their masters,

who somehow placed the last elections' bozos, BACK into office!

Interesting legal situation, but kind of hard to feel sorry for the chump. He ran out on his wife and 2 kids. He can't get a driver's license? Let him walk.

"Dead man walking."

I agree, the guy is a chump.

Besides, I suspect he could go to another state, be declared alive, and then go back.

Well if he's dead, then he doesn't have to pay taxes, file income tax etc.

Don't bet on it. That'd be the one time in the history of that organization that they used logic.

There was a case like that in Texas in 1998 or so. A guy was convicted of murder of his wife even though her body was never found and he served his time. Of course the trial established her death based on the circumstantial evidence used to convict him.

A few weeks after his released and serving the full sentence , her and her boyfriend came back from Mexico to the area where she staged her death.

Her husband notified authorities that she was back, he had served however many years they had sentenced him to sort of paying in advance for killing her and asking if he could kill her now and get credit for time served.

When I heard that the authorities acted quickly to get him into temporary observation custody to prevent him from balancing the books on his own as they arrested and charged her for faking her death and costing him a couple decades of his life I could almost imagine the district attorney saying "whew that is a technicality case I'm glad we didn't get."

As I recall she and her boyfriend got sent to prison and her husband got a free divorce and a million or two as restitution.

If he does get declared "alive" he should have to reimburse ss for payments to his "widow" on behalf of his children. She shouldn't be held responsible.

Man declared dead but still alive? If it was the other way around, I would swear you were talking about Senator Harry Reid.

The ex wife and boyfriend sure are stupid!

If that happened to me, I would use it as the perfect time to jump out of the system for good. Not a peep outta me.

True!

If for some reason they declared me dead, I think I would find a way to make my family and I disappear from their roles/radar..

But then my situation(s) wouldn't be like this low life scum.. I would never willingly leave my family/wife like he did...

I guess personal responsibility is just to strong in my core beliefs..
