I just found it odd that it touched ground from china in Anchorage ---an internationa airport --custom approved but was sent to on to the East only to return a day or two later to Anchorage.

I am quite experienced at shipping to Alaska and also international shipments. Almost ALL packages for UPS goes through Louisville. Maybe all air packages. I can't think of any that didn't. For some reason I am thinking some went through Ontario, CA but that is probably ground or fedex. Anyway, completely normal.

Thanks, nice to know. Another funny was that due to it being moose calfing time my dogs are in lock down so the lady had to open the gate and walk on a bridge with two large GP dogs barking like crazy --and then walk up stairs to the deck. I caught her as she was leaving and told her she was brave. Her reply was no, the momma cat and her kittens seemed pretty comfortable on the dog beds which was a clue that the dog were really gentel giants. --memo to self hide kittens if I expect anyone to buy into the dogs being killers.

Bet you got it 'free shipping' included . . . .so why the complaining? !!!

But I agree . . . there certainly seems to be room for improvement and it might

even reduce shipping costs if someone was able to tackle the problem head-on.

What problem? They have a huge automated processing center there and a place to land massive planes. I didn't take it as complaining as much as it was being inquisitive. And a week from China? Dang good time. Also, everyone knows there is no such thing as free. Free shipping means you're paying for the shipping in the price of the item. A more accurate statement would be. No additional shipping costs.

Not complaining --heck Nike is always right --almost to the minute as to when the shoes will arrive. (custom sport cleats for a school team) I just never notice that such packages hit Anchorage twice. Seeing that Anchorage is a major hub from the orient for shipping (gas refueling stop) when we notice that they had hit Anchorage we were wondering why (thought for a bit that it might be a fluke and a package getting misshipped. But then wonder if it needed to go to a UPS sort spot and then wonderer since Anchorage has a large UPS site at the Airport why not off load AK stuff. Sometimes things are just odd how they bounce around. I know that somewhere someone has a reason --I like to understand things. --Shipping included

The original "Federal Express" business model was to route every overnight package, through one Memphis TN hub, even if the destination, was in a nearby town.

These shippers Seem to know what that are doing.
