As usual, this site posts misleading information:

Quote:
"Are we going to have the potential for overzealous government workers wanting to go into these houses without going through the proper steps?" asks Pete Schulte, a local attorney who opposes the invasive measure, as quoted by CBS 11 News. "Does this give the government too much leeway?"
Nothing in the bill refers to going into "houses", nor does it mention any "searches"

It's about killing Mosquitos

Don't know why they can't just use planes.....that's how they treat during mosquito season here.

Or, better yet, how about drones! Yeah! Then they wouldn't have to worry about trespassing!

I remember as a kid those big trucks would drive around and we all made mad dashes to get inside before it got to us.

Sec.341.019.MOSQUITO CONTROL ON UNINHABITED RESIDENTIAL PROPERTY. (a) Notwithstanding any other law, a municipality, county, or other local health authority may abate, without notice, a public health nuisance under Section 341.011(7) that: (1)is located on residential property that is reasonably presumed to be abandoned or that is uninhabited due to foreclosure; and (2)is an immediate danger to the health, life, or safety of any person.

This bill pertains to abandoned and uninhabited property. Ohio passed something similar years ago after several people drown in abandoned swimming pools. As for mosquito control, treating stagnant water is a much better control than using the spray trucks which are not effective on adult mosquitos.
