Since I believe intelligence is relative, I agree with Bearfootfarm, this question is impossible to answer.

Well, I meet one guy every morning who tells me that I am the smartest person in the world.....then later, right before bed, I look into the mirror and see that same fella and he questions why I did the bone head things that I did that day, so I guess yes and no.....

Hmmm What is your definition of "smart"? And how would I be able to tell who is actually smarter than whom? Is it a matter of education? Common sense? Who earns the most money? how about who appears happiest?

I have been told "you think you're so smart."
I have had my mouth washed out with soap.
I don't feel smarter.
I never stop studying.
Did I spell studying wright?

According to various IQ tests as a kid I was smarter than most of the US population.I got tired of being a guinea pig and refused more tests in my teen years.

When I was younger, I used to think I was pretty smart. I had an IQ test in junior high school score me at 137. People are always asking me stuff because they don't remember, but I have a good memory. I have also noticed I catch on to stuff quicker than most people, you usually don't have to tell me or show me anything twice. So, sure, I am smart. All the signs are there.
But as the years march on and I begin to aquire true wisdom, I have come to realize, I am not all that smart. There are just soooooo many people out there who are "that stupid", I seem smart by comparison. It's been a real let-down, too.

Do I have a higher IQ than the vast majority of the population? Yes.
Am I "street smart"? No. I am very naive of most worldly things.

I never really thought about it. It keeps me busy trying to maintain my status as sexiest man alive.

Pretty much, yeah. There are a lot of smart people out there but the idiot factor is well represented. I spent 10 minutes today trying to teach four adult people 4th grade math. A waste of time.

If the common benchmark for "smart" is IQ, and that number is based on 100 being average, anyone with an IQ of 101 or higher is smarter than half the people they meet in the general public.
It could become a trick question if you worked at MIT, and met the general public infrequently.
