Rewarding a good work ethic in an 18 year old kid

Teenager shows gumption while looking for work. He gets rewarded with a job, but not the job he was trying for. I hope the man who hired him gets rewarded with lots of business. Though I would assume openings for this kind of work come and go, it sounds like the boss wasn't really looking to hire at the time.
