The Homesteading Today Grapevine !!!

I was just wondering how many here frequently PM others. Do you make friends here that you talk to by phone or even meet?

Do you talk about the site and those who irritate you etc ???

I was just wondering................

I have an interest in vintage garden tractors and am on sites devoted to that interest. They have events called plowdays and people get together for a picnic and plow a field. I have made some good friends as a result of this. I drive up to Rochester NY (4 hour drive) twice a year to plow with the boys.... they come to Pa. to plow also. We help each other finding repair parts or implements etc. I usually get a call about once a week from one of them. My first plowday was 9 years ago.

Many of us hardcore conservatives do meet every Friday night at an undisclosed location. We eat and drink while we make fun of liberals on here and plot ways to irritate them. Some of us even have voodoo dolls of certain liberals. It is fun to stick in the pins and know they will be suffering tomorrow. Our meetings get pretty expensive with all the caviar and Kobe steaks but we don't mind. After all, we are all wealthy from all the money we have stolen from the disadvantaged.

My wife and I did meet with one from the board. He is quite the gentleman, and showed us his operation so we could learn from him, and for that I am in his debt.

I got to meet a few people from HT in person. One I actually met because they were in the same yahoo group as me then as we got talking, we found out we were on HT too and had "know" of each other for years. Lol

I've got several friends on here on FB. I've met one on here in real life, and they were very cool to hang out with. =)

Just wanted to mention since you drive up to NY, if you're ever down VA ways, at Chippokes State Park, they have a BUNCH of working old tractors and a farm equipment museum, and and old logging operation set up. Chippokes is billed as the longest, continuealy farmed land in the US.

I met one of my very best friends on this forum. There are a couple others that I either see in person or PM that are wonderful people and I totally enjoy their company. But we don't waste time talking about others here. We're too busy having fun.

I talk to some others here - people that I really like and would want to know IRL. We don't gossip about others here on HT....we talk about important stuff.
