Dirty trick...

I bought some more TP this week, I still had a big bulk pack downstairs but figured, why not?? You're gonna use it.

So I got it home and compared the two, Quilted Northern bulk pack, same # of rolls... package 1 was bought in the last 6 months.

Package #1= 242 2 ply roll

Package #2= 190 2 ply roll

Pretty soon the big bulk TP packages will be half the size they were. But hey, at least inflation is still manageable.

How about there is No More Bath Sized bars of soap? Ivory only has one sized bar now, it is real narrow, no longer do they have the Bath Size anymore, which was 4.5 oz. Now hand soap bars are either under 4 oz or are at 4 oz. which is what Ivory is now.

Scott toilet paper is still 1000 sheets per roll, but the rolls are a quarter-inch narrower than they used to be.

I do believe this is going to make the shopper to take their time in LOOKING at what is on the shelve instead of just grabbing "Their Favorite Brand" LOL

I swear by Scott. I think, even with the slightly higher price tag, that it is the best, most economical deal.

A 4-pack lasts me around a month - and I'm home all day and I drink lots of Diet Coke.

We have lots of basswood here, and mullein. Except right now, of course. Everything is still in the deep freeze right now.

I guess if, er, when inflation gets bad enough, we can start using dollar bills.

Having been a jobber supplying janitorial supplies, the pros buy toilet paper and paper towels based on the WEIGHT. There are too many games that can be played by embossing rolls, narrowing them, etc. If you buy based on weight, you know what you are getting.

Hehehe......

So, I was curious and I just weighed a single roll of Scott's t.p.

6.5 ounces.

Maybe some with other brands could weigh their rolls and we could do a comparison?

So do I. I love that it lasts as long as it does also.
There is one other brand out that closely matches Scott. Its a dollar general brand.
I forget the name, you know it if you saw it. Its usually cheaper.

I always figure the cost by sq ft /$.

A few years ago my little brother worked for P&G in Albany and they had a bad run on the TP line (paper came out brown) and so they 'let' the employees have it after they 'tossed' it. I still have some of that paper.

Let me make sure I got this----they gave your brother brown toilet paper after they had bad runs?

And you saved some?

Do you know what you pay for a 4-pack of Charmin?

I checked, but unfortunately I can't find my store receipt from the last time I bought a pack of Scott's to compare.

Anybody else want to weigh a roll of a brand other than Scott's or Charmin for a comparison?

Best tonic in the world is a good laugh. Truth told I'm a bit envious of the 400-450 rolls of paper....I trying to housebreak a hard headed puppy.
