NPR talking head on gun control
A program from Canada, which I frequently hear, had a bit on American gun control. On it were three people beside the moderator. One strongly for gun control, one who was trying to explain American values on guns and one moderately supportive of gun ownership.
Unfortunately the gun control advocate was so excited that he kept talking over everyone else.
But something he said so bothered me and I think is so typical of the current left on so many topics, that I can't stop thinking on it.
He said, actually shouted, that the people who object to gun control would have certainly objected to arming the Black Panthers. So from out of the blue, he catagorized everyone on the gun rights side as white racists. Also he seems to feel that the gun people want to "arm" people (maybe conduct private wars?) and seem to not even think that maybe the Black Panthers having guns might have had an effect on civil rights that would not have happened without that threat.
Of course, this is about the right choose to arm yourself, not other people. And race had not even been mentioned until he just popped out with it. But it shows the deep beliefs from the left on many issues, as posted here. It defines conservatives as racists anytime there is a disagreement. In their mind, it must put paid to having to think anything further.
