I don't hear much of them. The government does their own, I know. They do a lot through EPIC, which is in Texas, though I doubt the resource is available to non law enforcement services. You got to check out many people? Between you and I, I'ld have my reservations about civilian, non law enforcement background checking companies. If a person has a current warrant against them, the company should be able to get it, as well as a current credit check. Recent convictions, since 1996 are a bit harder. Courts are prone to seal up so many records to non government agencies. A friend of mine is a recruiter, who shares that so many of the kids going in have records that even the military can't access due to court sealing up convictions, and expungements etc. If they are not registered sex offenders, it isn't easy to find out information about other people's past convictions. That's just my take on it, however. You may only need to show that you did a background check to cover yourself, and if something goes bad, at least no one can come back and say you were negligent. Good luck, however.
