Newspaper Publishes Gun Owners' Names and Addresses

How low will Obama's henchmen stoop?
Apparently we haven't found the bottom low of the left yet.
Quote:
A newspaper in New York has received a wave of criticism from its readers after publishing the names and addresses of all of the individuals with handgun or pistol permits in its coverage area.
Hundreds of residents in New York's Westchester and Rockland counties were surprised to find their names and addresses listed on a map posted by The Journal News on Sunday. Users can click any dot on the map to see which of their neighbors has a permit for a gun.

Time to fight 'fire' with "fire"!

I'd be willingly to bet that the owner and editor of that particular rag are members of

the liberal gun-control agenda group that endorsed the imposter-in-chief and more

than likely don't have any self-protection anywhere on their respective properties.

A website could be easily set-up advertising these idle speculations, along with a map

to each of their respective domiciles. Turn about is fair play. What's good for the goose . . .

And if the website gets shut down, there are always flyers that can be tacked up on utility

poles around town. I'm sure that the story might even get snapped up by the national

lamestream media . . . all the better. Sometimes shouting fire has repercussions. . .

even when it's not in a theater.

Nothing like letting every crook and thief in town where they can steal a weapon they can use to commit another crime. Seems to be pretty close to reckless endangerment to me!

And conversely what would be the reaction if a newspaper would publish the names of people who did not own arms? .... making them targets of criminals.

They effectively did post that the remaining households do not legally own arms.

Instead of telling where a gun is that they can steal it's also telling them wehre a gun is and to NOT break in there. If I were a theif I wouldn't go to a home that has a gun.

I couldn't find a government link to post, apparently because the law varies from state to state. But I found a forum that was discussing whether CCW's were public or private info. I'm willing to bet NY is a public records state.

Another good thing to check on before going for that license.

I'd be willing to bet you're wrong about that. Like most hypocrites, banning guns is only their agenda for others. Just like Feinstein, Shumer, Emmanuel, and Bloomberg who all have well armed bodyguards, I bet the owner and editor have plenty of personal protection in the form of firearms.

I think you've nailed it. If someone is afraid of having their personal information, such as gun permits and their addresses, listed on a public website for all the world to see, then they might think twice before arming themselves.

If you can't legislate someone out of a firearm, then use their own desires for privacy to prevent them from purchasing and registering.

Same here. An estimate a few years back here based on population and a CCW sequence number supposively indicated about 2/3 of our county was CCW licensed but depending on how our Sheriff numbers permits and our permit records are LE confidential I doubt that they could really tell

Worely is a flippin gun owner. An editor's note was attached to the story:

“Journal News reporter Dwight R. Worley owns a Smith & Wesson 686 .357 Magnum and has had a residence permit in New York City for that weapon since February 2011.”

I'm betting he didn't do a FOIA request for *his* county.

Saw on the news today that someone using the NY public access posted a google map of the editor and journalists of the publication names and addresses in response to the publication publishing the gun owners information.
