Dontcha just love Dennis Miller?!!!
Watching him on Leno tonight and while Jay was laughing as a fellow comedian,
he was also noticably uncomfortable as the various democrats in office, were being
reamed royally! Also noticed, that there were a large number of audience members
that also appreciated the 'tell it like it is' style that Miller always delivers.

I like his humor - just don't like the language he uses.

I usually only listen to him in primetime so no bad language.
Sometimes on Wed. on O'Reilly he's so funny & spot on I nearly fall off the couch laughing! Hard to see how the "Ds" are touting the Idiotincharge w/strait face!

Leno is a light-hearted comedian, who usually avoids, straight, unfunny, political bashing.
George Carlin, was a comedy genius and legend, but in his later years, his completely straight, completely unfunny, endless political tirades, were a complete turn-off.
There are many other places, to go, to feel politically self-righteous. Comedy is supposed to be entertaining.

I noticed that as well...if he wasn't bashing politicians/government, he was bashing religion...and just about everything else as well. Very tiresome.
He had been, at one time, one of my favorite comedians.
As for Miller or Maher...meh.

He is good. One radio in my area is caring his radio show. Man is that funny at times. He sure has a quick mind, faster for most people to understand but even if understanding half of it it is funny as all get out.

Just as with all comedians some of his stuff is absolutely hysterically funny or very, very accurate.
“Sure, the lion is king of the jungle
but airdrop him into Antarctica,
& he's just a penguin's bitch”
“You know there is a problem with the education system when you realize that out of the 3 R's only one begins with an R”
“I'm like Bush, I see the world more like checkers than chess.”
“And quit bringing up our forefathers and saying they were civil libertarians. Our founding fathers would have never tolerated any of this crap. For God's sake, they were blowing peoples' heads off because they put a tax on their breakfast beverage. And it wasn't even coffee.”

Very true. I went to see him live about a decade ago. Not sure what happened with him, but I sensed anger and bitterness in him, and he came across as so arrogant that I felt like he basically had contempt for the whole human race.
Also, he was an atheist, which is just fine by me...no skin off my nose...but he unmercifully bashed anyone who believed in God -- any God -- and basically called them complete morons.

I think he got very angry and bitter after his wife of 34 years died of liver cancer in 1997. He did change but if you get by the language, he said a lot of things about politics, government and religion others were or are afraid to say.

Miller has one of the quickest minds I've ever heard. Cuts through the crud to the heart of the matter.
My favorite Carlin line: What do dogs do on their day off?

Dennis Miller is one of those people who seem to have a certain attitude that rubs me wrong. Even when I agree with what he's saying, I don't usually like the way he says it.

I just remembered a word that you don't hear much these days, but it reminds me of Dennis Miller: smarmy.

describing the 'feeling' I receive when Bill Maher tries to use his
wit to entertain the lemmings. It certainly doesn't come close
to that 'tingly' feeling that Chris Matthews
gets running up his leg, when swooning over O.
More like trying to keep from retching and vomiting!

Dennis Miller is okay but his long winded sentences get a little tiresome.
I loathe Bill Maher but love Jon Stewart.
