Is it really a big deal? I'm sure the various teams from around the world uses gear made all over the planet.

Its the olympics,,, one country over another country,,, it SHOULD be a BIG deal...
Cost should not be a factor... But country of origin should...

Ah, but aren't we suppose to help the poor & downtrodden? How better than to give of our great wealth?

I mean, hasn't our great president stated that we have to lower ourselves to become equal with the rest of the world? Isn't that forward, progressive thinking - to give everyone a trophy to become equal??

Gooolllly, how could anyone think otherwise?

China is not the only manufacturer making uniforms for the American athletes. Ralph Lauren and Nike (both American manufacturers) are also making uniforms for the athletes.

Ralph Lauren designed the outfits for the opening ceremonies. Every part of it was made in China. It's not the end of the world, but it is a bit disappointing that this stuff is not made in the USA. All said and done, it's a billion dollars worth of stuff.

When the Commonwealth Games were held in Manchester a few years ago my Mother made a bunch of the costumes for the opening and closing ceremonies.

Not really relevant..just bragging on Mum

I have bigger things on my worry list than this but I will say that I don't think this is right. The Olympic committee want us to support the American athletes but they won't support American workers?

Have you seen the uniforms? I think this is a plot by China to make us look silly and become the subject of worldwide ridicule. Ralph Lauren is obviously a Chinese double agent.

By the way, the first beret I was issued in the Army had a little tag inside that said...made in China.....Gen Shinseki was also obviously a Chinese double agent for pushing that disaster on us.

Could be the factory in China I guess. Ralph Lauren has factories all over America and around the world - China, Australia, Europe, etc.

Yeah,, what is up with the beret anyway,, I heard about them yesterday.
Are we being set-up as a United Militia state or what?
That has to be no accident that their uniforms consist of a beret. Just sayin.

They Women's uniform is Hideous. It also should not be made in China. We have some very good manufactures here.

This is really the only reason it does bother me. Our economy needs the boosts wherever we can get it and I know the quality produced here is the best there is.
