Click and Clack are retiring

Sad news, at least in my world.
Ray and Tom are calling it quits after 30 years but NPR will continue to air reruns.
Good luck guys, don't drive like my brother.

Quote:
Brothers Tom and Ray Magliozzi said Friday they will stop making new episodes of their joke-filled auto advice show at the end of September, 25 years after "Car Talk" began in Boston. Repurposed versions of old shows will stay on National Public Radio indefinitely, however.

They can't retire! Think of the high unemployment! Who's going to hire Marge N. O'vera?! And who is going to know about the Single Mother's Support Group headed by R. Azzmus B. Dragin?

Click and Clack once presided over a virtual village that resulted in meet-ups of groups of people around the country, at least one marriage, and the memories that persist among the refugees from that long ago village. The village co-existed about the time of the old Countryside forum which evolved into the HT of today.

Like HT there was a variety of individuals from different backgrounds that did not hesitate to offer advice and guidance.

Click and Clack never allowed proper moderation of the Cafe D'artre which met an unfortunate demise. I'm not sorry to see them go. As I mentioned on another thread, I never had the patience to listen to their moronic jokes and that inane laughter of one of the brothers. It was much to much to put up with for the few kernels of knowledge they occasionally revealed. As far as I'm concerned I have no love for Dewey, Cheatum & Howe

That's why I stopped listening. Mostly chaff and very little wheat.

That's why I listen- I love the 'chaff'. Being from New England, I grew up with similar characters.
