Man convicted of manslaughter for defending himself.
Absolutely one of the dumbest things I've ever heard...
"In the Lowe case, news stories said, a thug named Loren Manning Jr., accompanied by two other thugs, jumped Lowe on a city street last October.
Lowe, 57, is a disabled and retired Marine, who has had two strokes and two heart surgeries and wears a pacemaker.
Manning and his sidekicks attacked Lowe and witnesses said Manning chased him and tried to clobber him with a metal pole before catching him and pinning him to the ground, where Lowe managed to retrieve a small pocket knife and used it to stick Manning, who, tragically, died."
(I haven't figured out why the thugs dying is a tragedy).
"For one thing, the defense was not allowed to mention that Manning had 18 criminal convictions before he went after Lowe. Also, when Lowe was attacked, Manning was awaiting trial on charges he robbed a woman and knocked out her teeth."
Personally, I think Mr. Lowe should be given an award for getting rid of garbage.

Why can't I put MORE than one like to your thread!???
Seriously though.....instead of wasting taxpayer's money/resources on prosecuting this HERO;
he should be given the keys to the city and a reward for removing the "vermon" from the sreets.

I wouldn't waste the money on the rope. Use a clothesline to tie his legs and arms together and leave him in the street where the "manslaughter" occurred so he can rethink his verdict (for a few moments...)

Brought to you by liberals
They'd rather see a criminal kill someone than someone defend themselves.
It's that attitude that will be the death of the progressive movement.
They always back the bad guys.

When I first read, and then re-read the OP, I kept saying "where did this happen?". I saw Ninny is in Texas, and no way it happened there. Then I read the article, and saw Philidelphia. Wow, what a surprise. At least it wasn't New York, or they would have convicted him of murder.

Chicago seems to be pretty good proof too
The liberal mob disarmed the public, now they are the murder capitol of the country.
They created a safe working environment for the scum of the earth, the lazy, the dopers, the thieves and made it almost impossible for the average citizen to defend himself without going to prison.
That's what the left brings us, they rule by fear and intimidation, they are the bad guys in the story of America

Sad to hear he was charged with manslaughter but glad that he is alive to file an appeal and the mugger isn't. At least on appeal he will get a different judge and jury.
As the saying goes, "It's better to be judged by 12 than toted by 6.

Really, look at who the left always sides with in any case.
Take the Zimmerman\Martin case for instance, the liberals from Obama down have already decided he deliberately shot a 10 year old for no reason.
Scummy liberal lawyers like John Edwards have defended the guilty and ruined innocent people for decades
It's the left who is always trying to disarm the citizens, it's the left who are outraged when a criminal gets killed in the act.
I should have said that in my experience, the left always backs the bad guys.
Brady Campaign=bad guys trying to disarm the innocent citizen, backed by the left. Obama promised them gun control under the radar
SEIU, ACORN, MSNBC, all bad guys backed and protected by the left.
Sharpton, Jackson, Farrakhan, Van Jones, all racist hate mongers coddled by the left and all bad guys (unless you don't consider bigotry bad)
Bill Ayers, bad guy, friend of Obama
New Black Panthers, racists, violent activists, voter fraud, intimidation, drugs, etc, work for the left.
You can deny it all you want, but the violent, the corrupt, the lazy and the bigots are all excused and protected by the Democrats.
