Angry Put An End For Looking Out For Neighbors

Considering what happen in Florida people should reconsider looking out for their neighbors and Neighborhood Watch Organisations, let the Punks Win.

I know with myself seems I always came out on the short end.

Like the time couples Kids were throwing Rocks at a tied dog,I went out to stop them. They both beat my Arms Bloody and Swollen, trying to protect my Head.

The time three Skin Heads was giving a Black Man hard time I jumped in,they beat me put me in the hospital, they went to Jail but I was unconscious most of the beating, seems they considered killing me but didn't.

Was in Kansas City Mexican was beating his womans Head on a Car,I jump in and he wouldn't quit coming at me so I put the hurt on him.Cops were called, his woman sided with him I was arrested.

NOPE! Anymore I'm taking care of me and my family as far as anyone else I'm not going to raise a finger, they can cut your guts out and leave you on the street Not my Problem!!

Gone are the days when I will stop on the highway and assist a stranded motorist.

Last time I did several years ago I watched the tire blow out and it was an elderly man, so I did stop and help him out. Normally however I will not. Why put the risk of robbery and beating on your self.

I will always help my neighbors and I always have, and it's doubtful that I'll ever be in the situation Zimmerman currently finds himself in.

I won't let this stop me from intervening if someone needs my help. If God wants to punch my time card while I am assisting someone who needed me, there it is.

My thoughts are that you don't have to physically get involved. You can always honk your horn, call 911, shout.."what's going on there ?"..If it involves a child or a tied animal...I would probably get into it a little more...

Pepper spray works wonders if you're being attacked. Bear spray, wasp spray, what have you...

I figure that my life on Earth is just temporary. When it's my time to go, then God will take me. Until then I will try to be like the good Samaritan who stopped to help the person no one else would help. Although the Zimmerman/Martin case doesn't really fit in with the OP, since it was only 2 people involved and no one bothered to help.

Yes, there was one man who tried to help.
When he saw Martin setting on top of Zimmermen he called 911.
Most people would rather not listen to that call and many will not believe it even happened.

Sorry, usually I don;t quote scripture but your post brought this to mind immediately so I just can't help quoting
Quote:
Luke 10: 30 Jesus said: “A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, when he was attacked by robbers. They stripped him of his clothes, beat him and went away, leaving him half dead. 31 A priest happened to be going down the same road, and when he saw the man, he passed by on the other side. 32 So too, a Levite, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side. 33 But a Samaritan, as he traveled, came where the man was; and when he saw him, he took pity on him. 34 He went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he put the man on his own donkey, brought him to an inn and took care of him. 35 The next day he took out two denarii[c] and gave them to the innkeeper. ‘Look after him,’ he said, ‘and when I return, I will reimburse you for any extra expense you may have.’

36 “Which of these three do you think was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of robbers?”

37 The expert in the law replied, “The one who had mercy on him.”

I have always been the kind to jump right in and start defending the underdog. Got sent home from Kindergarten for thumping a little boy who was thumping another little boy. I don't think my thumping the kid was what got me in trouble but I tied him up with my skipping rope and for some reason that upset the teacher.

Then a few years ago when my husband was away for months for work we got new neighbours. The husband beat the wife. She came pounding on my door and I would let her in and then stand him off. This happened a few times and then I told her that if she kept going back not to bother coming to my door. So she went to the other neighbour. Now maybe the husband backed off from me because I am so fierce (ha!) or perhaps it had to do with my three huge dogs but apparently he did not back off from the other neighbour. The second time the two men got into a huge fight. Husband knocked neigbour backwards and neighbour hit his head on a rock. He actually hit his neck and became completely paralized. Husband ended up in jail and wife moved away. Neighbour left a young wife and three young children all on their own because he just had to "help'. No good deed goes unpunished.

And lessons are hard to learn. I still jump in.

There is a good possibility that is exactly what Zimmerman thought, too......

I dunno Rock. But I think in spite of your rotten experiences, you are not a "Not My Problem" type of fellow. If you see something, you will do something about it, it's just the way you're made. And we love you for it.

Well Uncle Sam taught me pretty good and 3 years Tae Kwon Do,one incident was before, the other got blind sided.

Truth just rant in truth I probably jump it,never let Government or Jail stop me before.

Whats stupid with Zimmerman if it was normal incidence and they decided to arrest him he could at most Plea Bargain and get Probation.

I have allways helped people and allways will. I have to be more carefull, now then I used to be. A stranded motorist may be just that, but it may be someone wanting to rob me. Why would I put myself and family at risk. I can take care of myself and allways travel armed, however I am not really in the mood to go to jail because some one elses stupidity. I have and allways will give the shirt off my back and my back to go with it to help a neighbor in need.

Please do not preach to me. I am sure you are not perfect either.

Zimmerman showed poor judgment by profiling somebody he thought was a criminal.

Then he showed poor judgement by pursuing and confronting that person even though he was told not to.

People will still help people. However maybe they will learn from this incident and make better decisions and call the law unless they are in immediate danger.

A few years back this old dude saw some burglars breaking into the house down the hill from him around here. He grabbed his gun and headed downhill to confront them. They nailed him before he even got in range with some guns they stole from the house. He would have done better to call the law.
