All you have to do is read craigslist to see the state of American spelling and grammar. I click on some ads simply because I can't even tell what they are selling.

I can't read some of the books that are cheap on Amazon on my kindle because the spelling and grammar are so bad! Especially the authors who can't figure out the difference between "to" and "too", the story gets lost with those constant distractions

The parents had reason for concern.

Now we have to worry about brain dead people who can't spell right and talk and spell even stranger now using leetspeak.

I always thought it sounded goofy when Jan or Marsha or even Grieg Brady said things like "groovy ,far out ,bread " ect. Keep your applehill,it was Strawberry hill all the way.

Same here

It drives me crazy when people use numbers and letters for words "this is 4 u 2 take home"
Makes the person seem stoopid

I knew I wasn't the only one, lol.
When spell check can't figure out what word we are trying to spell,we are beyond help.
I have always been pretty good spelling words, but here lately some easy words blow my mind.
I used to think it was funny when folks couldn't take a dictionary and find the word they are trying to spell, but it ain't funny no more.

Using number like 4, 2 gr8, etc is common texting shortcut. The rest, I do cringe.

Is it really true that cursive writing is no longer being taught in school? If so, this absolutely boggles my mind.

Nobody sells anything on craigslist. They sale or are saleing stuff.

Although I have seen the word sell on cl. "I have xxx for sell."

The language that passes for written communication gives me a headache. I can't read that kind of garbage.

Since we are talking about spelling.... I found out awhile back I got a strange form of Dyslexia from speed reading (and not writing to keep up with spelling skills). My brain no longer recognized whole words,so I could no longer figure out the proper way to spell. If I try to spell it out, I can See that it's wrong, but still can't find the proper way in my mind. It's taking a lot of practice to retrain, kinda like having a stroke. Spell check can be a whole new frontier tho-if I write about my "Rotties" it always changes them to "Kittens". I don't get upsest if folks dis me over my spelling tho, most people are way to kind for that.
