Michigan Government reduces regulations
For those that hate government intrusion into our lives and those that feel jobs have gone to Mexico because of too strict enviromental laws, here is good news:
A series of 77 major changes to state environmental regulations have been forwarded to Governor Rick Snyder from the Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs Office of Regulatory Reinvention that officials said could cut the cost of the overall regulations.
Officials said the changes, which include rescinding 330 rules that were considered "overly-burdensome" or obsolete, would still provide protections to the state's environment.
Among the changes the proposals call for is creating a beneficial reuse act that would allow use of materials now considered waste, and changes to rules that may exceed federal standards to make them more cost competitive.
In a release, the chair of the subcommittee on the changes said the changes would significantly reduce the cost of business in Michigan.
