What is something you wont by because of ??
I have an odd question? What is something you wont buy like for instance food. Example is, I wont buy foods that contain BHT or BHST. I dont buy foods that are made with Canola Oil(stuff is garbage) and I wont buy margarine. I'm curious what people refuse to buy due to either lack in quality or because it contains some toxic crap.
I dont buy chinese vegetables or anything labled grown in China, or from anywhere over seas. I dont buy dollar store anything metal due to radioactive cheap metals, buy geiger counter, you will be amazed whats radioactive.
I no longer buy alot of things due to the total crap they put in the foods. Its almost no wonder why people are dying of weird diseases, theres 3000 chemicals in there meals a week, besides all the real food ingredients.
So anyway, curious to hear your no no's in the world...

I wont buy the politically correct hype and propaganda floating around because it leads one to believe the durndest sorta nonsense. While this applies to all sorts of nonsense... stuff promoted by health nuts is particularly dangerous. I nearly starved myself to death once trying to keep up with all the latest "this will kill you" nonsense.

I do not purchase or knowingly eat Tyson meat products because of the way they treat their employees, and the animals they process.

I absolutely refuse canola oil as well. Do a search in the forums on my name and the word canola to get the full scoop. I've had too much personal bad interaction with that junk. Likewise, we use butter instead of margarine, and I avoid most food from China. I'm fine with most eurozone foods and some mideast stuff. Don't care about radioactive stuff, too old for it to be an issue.
I'm not a follower of junk science, but I am not 100% mainstream either.
I also try to avoid Disney products - too many bad memories of how that company underpays, is paternalistic, promotes a consumerist agenda, and stole from the public by getting copyright laws changed.

I try not to buy products (especially food) from China, but it's become nearly impossible. Many 'all-American' products contain ingredients from other countries, and they don't have to tell you. I have no problem with products from other countries that I trust, but China ain't on that list.
With food, you can either grow your own, or buy local. Of course, this time of year, most of us would be eating canned food. With manufactured goods, about the only thing you can do is look for used items in good shape, then take care of them.

I avoid Walmart, can't completely not buy anything there, but they aren't getting rich off of me or my family. Everything in there is from China anyway. Also don't go to Walgreens because they did imminent domain in our area---three lawyers sent from their office in Wichita, Kansas, to fight our poor local private owners here. It was nasty.

I do not buy:
Canola (poison)
"Frozen Dairy Product" (AKA ice cream, but it's not ice cream)
Box mac and cheese (because it's carp. not food)
Whirlpool products (because they are junk, and they moved operations to mexico and left thousands of folks unemployed)
"Pre-made" meals in a bag or box (chemical bombs)
Non-organic chocolate milk (chemical bombs)
Kraft cheese 'food' slices (it's not cheese.)
Meat from Wal-Mart (It's mystery meat....I don't shop at wal-mart either!)
Margarine (poison)
Pre packaged cookies (chemical bombs)
Automobiles that are made by Government Motors (will not support communism)
Any paint other than Behr (best stuff in the WORLD)
Kindle (because I love books)
That's all I can think of right now........

We don't buy:
margarine, we use real butter.
Farm raised seafood, except catfish.
Processed food. (A frozen pizza once in a while.)
Try to avoid imported food items. In the winter we just don't have fresh grapes, melons, etc.
Fast food. Once in a while I forget my lunch and have to eat it, I usually spend the afternoon drinking water because it was so salty, or popping Tums.
Cars/trucks from "foreign" makers.

I'm leery of about anything made or grown in China. The NBC segment they did last year of the garlic grown in China in soils full of heavy metals like mercury and arsenic, and other toxins and poisons in the soil made me lose my appetite for anything grown there.
They use liquid mercury and liquid cyanide to do their mining for precious metals like gold. Those metals run off from the soil into their lakes and ponds where they are farming seafood like tilapia. They then harvest the tilapia full of toxins, package it, and send it here to be sold at Walmart. Next time you go to Walmart, go to the frozen seafood, look at the bags of frozen tilapia fish, and read on the back: Farm raised in China ...... Man o' man is that scary ..... poison fish being sold here ....... Which begs the question ..... We are surrounded by ocean on 3 sides and can't even catch and sell our own fish ??? What the heck is wrong with this country ??
I do buy Dole foods as they are grown in California and are harvested and canned/packaged here in the USA.
Like Mo_Cows, I rarely eat fast food. Too fatty, too salty, too deadly for my arteries. I haven't been in a McDonalds in about 3 years, same for Wendys and other burger places. I do go to KFC, but just to get a big tub of their cole slaw (best in the world). I had a freebie piece of Cains chicken last week and it was horrible - tasteless and dry. I'll stick with the Savory whole rotisserie chicken from Kroger. I don't care for fried food ..... all that grease gives me the runs.

The chain groceries in my area (Midwest) list the nation of origin for their "fresh" fish. Some is from overseas but quite a bit is from at least this hemisphere.
I will not, however, purchase wild-caught Alaska salmon that was processed in China. Yep, they do that.

Sorry, I got distracted by anti-canola people there. I refuse to buy very much meat from the store. Farm raised stuff is so much better tasting.

I avoid Walmart(not a political reason, just hate the chaos) & margarine but otherwise I eat/buy both local & imported products.
I'm close to 60, take no prescription meds and figure maybe those horrible imported items are keeping me well preserved.

I avoid many of the things listed above, I try to grow my own food or at least get it from very local sources, organic and heirloom if possible. If I know something is GMO I avoid it at ALL costs. I don't buy factory farmed meat, butter, cheese or eggs. If I can't get something local, I buy organic/substainable. Yes, its a lot mroe expensive so I eat a lot less but its so much better. I don't buy brand new clothes---only undies, socks and shoes will I buy new.

I wouldn't buy anything made by General Motors due to Durant's marketing scheme to sell on the basis of class.

We try to avoid a lot of processed foods but every once in a while we will make exceptions.
These are a few things we absolutely will not buy, but will eat if at some else's home with no other substitutes, and one that we will never consume.
margarine
artificial sweeteners - won't consume at all
cool whip - will let kids eat, DH and I won't eat
miracle whip - will let kids eat, DH and I won't eat
