Homemade bird feeder

The bird feeder is a coat hanger bent in a spiral. The 'roof' that keeps the rain off is just a plastic plate from an instant microwave meal. It is attached to the branch above and below. I use some pieces of bread, spread peanut butter on both sides, and press in lots of bird seed and put the whole thing in the feeder spiral. The birds love it !! So far I've had tons of birds at the feeder including cardinals, blue jays, a crow, a pileated wood pecker, and a wild turkey looking for pieces that drop off !!
The feeder cost was ZERO. The pleaure is priceless.
I'm going to have to get a couple #10 cans of peanut butter to keep 'em all fed !!

Great idea! We also like giving welfare to the birds in winter! : ) They're good to have around. The cats think so also, although not for the same reasons...

Nice feeder. By BIL made me a redneck bird feeder for Christmas. It's a toilet plunger turned upside down with the handle in a hole in a board to hold it up. Birds like it.

Here the squirrels would have it down and in their nest before I got back inside the house. Nice idea though for someone who isn't overrun with fuzzy tailed thieving rats.

Or you could mix cayenne pepper into the peanut butter and get some laughs. Cayenne pepper is actually good for birds.

You had a turkey under it?!?!?! How cool!
