I am #3, which means that possibly as soon as January I will be getting my promotion to Captain.

Thank you guys! This really was my last shot. In two years when they hold the test again, a degree will be required to sit for the test. No way can I do college, but with this bump in salary I might be able to do online courses...after all, Batallion Chief EMS beckons next!!!
When I started hearing who else had taken the test my hopes dropped...some very good, well spoken candidates competed. I felt the oddest thing when I walked into that room...complete peace and clarity of mind; I figured I had done OK but like I said, when I compared answers after the exam I realised I had left a lot out!! But I guess I had a better showing then I thought.
