I've been saying that since the 80's When I bought my 1985 Honda Goldwing Aspencade. Which rolled off the assembly line in the Marysville Ohio plant.

Dang thing had over 108,000 mile on it when a 20 year old drunk decided to park his car in the passing lane on Route 30 at 20 mins after midnight one cold dark Sept night in 1999.. I miss that bike with a passion.. Never any trouble and ran like a charm. While my friends on Harleys were having theirs rebuilt after 50,000 miles mine was running strong. We traveled the east coast together.. Yes I was always at the rear of the pack, but then I was the one with the trailer behind the bike and carrying the spare parts for everyone else.. I also had a CB so I could let the leader know if someone had trouble..

Anyway, it's been that way for quite a while now.. American auto makers and motorcycle makers have been sending their work overseas..

I saw that article awhile back, and it just irritated me. But, at least my truck is in the top 10.

Hyundai has a plant right here in Alabama and employees more Americans here in Alabama than Ford, or Chevrolet. But we give GM and Chrysler bailout money so they can improve their overseas operations.

Yep, and...

GM, once responsible for half the models on the AMI, is down to just one player: the Kansas-built Chevrolet Malibu, which comes in fifth place. The automaker's full-size pickups — the Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra — were once regulars here. Production of both trucks is split between the U.S. and Mexico, however, and today's models have only a 65 percent domestic parts content.

What's sad about it?

Would everybody be happier, if the "imports", were still manufactured in Japan? These Companies build cars here, because it make business sense and American workers, make a decent living because of it.

Everybody uses both domestic and imported parts when buildng them.

We should be thankful, to the Japanese, for at least one thing.

If it were not for the super high quality cars, they started importing, into the U.S. in the 1970's, we would never have the high quailty American made (GM, Ford,Chrysler) cars that we have today.

Brand new, American made vehicles, were rolling piles of trash in the late 70's. Quality was non-existent. Japan forced us to get our own act together.

What is so bad? At least Americans are working.
Every years Nascar starts out with The Daytona 500.
It is called The American Race.
There are four car makers in that race.
Chevy (Impala )
Ford ( Fusion )
Dodge ( Charger )
and Toyota. ( Camry )
The ONLY car made in the USA was the Toyota Camry.
And this has been going on for the last 3 years nothing new about a story about foreign car makers making more cars in the USA then Detroit does.
