Government Shadow Statistics

Ever wonder why what you see in the real world doesn't match what the Government tells you on areas like unemployment, inflation, etc. Here is an interesting link to help explain what the real numbers are:

The SGS Newsletter

"John Williams’ Shadow Government Statistics" is an electronic newsletter service that exposes and analyzes flaws in current U.S. government economic data and reporting, as well as in certain private-sector numbers, and provides an assessment of underlying economic and financial conditions, net of financial-market and political hype."

How are we to be certain these numbers are real?

Just because they say so? Sound's awfully familiar.

At least the Government numbers are already paid for.

No, it's not.

Our Government knows, that we don't have enough money and they have known it, for many, many years.

They also know that if they want to even attempt to keep their jobs, they must continue to spend and spend a lot, regardless of wether there is enough money, or not. This is not rocket science.

Tin foil hat theories aside, unemployment, inflation, etc. Figures are usually pulled, from surveys, trending data, Industry reports - not always necessarily hard numbers.

If the Government is lying about "the numbers", why don't they just say that the defecit is only 900 billion and the unemployment rate is 6.1 percent?

Then we would all be happy.

At least on this planet, it make no sense to fudge the "numbers" and make thingsf look worse.

89.7% of all statistics are made up by people with an axe to grind or something to sell.
