Incognito at Target!

http://news.yahoo.com/michelle-obama...220828092.html

The gist is, she had to sneak out to do a simple shopping trip at Target. It is hard to remember in the midst of all the fighting these are still people who gave up the simplest of things, like a quick dash into a Target. And I am GLAD to see her shopping at a store as thrifty as Target.

No worries, I am just in a good mood this morning, lol.

I don't care if true or not, but I do think she looks better there than I've seen her when trying to dress up. I'd say that's more the real person.

Yep, photo op. She took so much heat last election about her $800.00 sneakers and $1500 capri pants and all the endless vacays at taxpayer expense that she's trying to show how she's down-scaling.

Yyyyyyyyyyyyyyeeah..................

There's no way the Secret Service let her wander around unescorted.
It's propaganda

So, let me get this straight, she snuck out, but the secret service was so smart, they knew exactly when she would sneak out, and just so happened to pick the one spot she would 'sneak out' too...., and somehow, even though she was so stealthy, there happened to be folks walking around with video cameras taking pictures, that the secret service somehow 'missed'??? Um, OK.....

I am sure the kool-aid crowd are swooning, though.....

Who said she snuck out or went unattended?

Does anybody shopping at target buy made in USA?
Does Target even stock made in USA?

Nice to see her getting out so she can see the prices of things real people are paying. And it probably was fun to get out without the media circus and hoopla for a change.

I hope she goes home and tells hubby they really need to take a deeper look at the economy and bring more jobs home from oversees,or encourage more manufacturing here at home.

Is she still ashamed to be an American?

It's such a nice change from bashing the Bushs and Palins though isn't it?

The article I read sounded like "sneaking" to me:

Quote:
She isn't the first first lady to try to go out unrecognized
It wouldn't be SOP to let just anyone get that close to her with a camera without searching them first, so it's obvious the picture was planned, unless of course you think some random reporter just happened to be there

Quote:
AP photographer Charles Dharapak told CBS News he took pictures of the first lady at the Target on Route 1 in Alexandria, Virginia

Did you link to the article you read or did you just expect everyone to know what you read?

From the article linked in the op

WASHINGTON (AP) — Attention Target shoppers: You could have been standing in line with Michelle Obama.

The first lady, hard to recognize in a baseball cap and sunglasses, shopped Thursday at a Target Corp. store in Alexandria, Va., just outside Washington.

Casually dressed Secret Service agents arrived about a half-hour before Mrs. Obama, who walked in through the main entrance with an assistant. She spent 30 to 40 minutes shopping, pushing her own cart. She apparently was recognized only by the cashier who rang up her purchases.

Since coming to the White House, Mrs. Obama has lamented missing out on what she calls "normal stuff," like Target runs.

She isn't the first first lady to try to go out unrecognized. Hillary Rodham Clinton went for walks wearing a baseball cap and sunglasses, too.

I actually didn't mean a dis when I said "snuck out." Just that she flew under the radar to go to Target. It did say that she had her secret service folks dressed casually and that they had to case the joint first, but I would expect that.
