Pretty old scam. Use to be a camera being switched for a brick in a box.

What's the problem?

She got what she paid for.

If she is the "victim", then she's the victim of her own greed and gullibility.

At least the wooden ipad, had the Apple logo on it, so there was no problem with copyrights.

If she gets a signed affidavit that this is the real wooden Ipad in the story, she can sell it on Ebay. probably get her money back plus a little something extra.

Yep, an old scam. I'm surprised they bothered to dress it up and put an apple on it...scammers with a sense of humor eh?

Back around 1990 when I was living in NYC I was a a friend's place when her roommate's boyfriend came over all exited about the VCR he had just bought from a guy on the street..it looked good the box all shrink wrapped and all.

Inside was just wadded up newspapers.

I remember when the X-Box came out there was an ad on Ebay for an X-Box box.

No X-Box, just the box the X-Box came in. The ad was very clear on this and people still bid it up to several hundred dollars.

Some folks just live to prove P. T. Barnam's adage right.

I had a neighbor who bought subscriptions to four or five magazines in a come on promotion that offered "a free electronic piano with every subscription order over $100".

She got the magazines and the piano. A calculator sized little synthesizer with about 16 little keys on it .

She set her electronic piano prominately on her coffee table with a little candlestick from some board game on top of it.
