WEST ALLIS - Witnesses tell Newsradio 620 WTMJ and TODAY'S TMJ4 of a mob of young people attacking innocent fair-goers at the end of the opening night of State Fair, with some callers claiming a racially-charged scene.

Milwaukee Police confirmed there were assaults outside the fair.

Witnesses' accounts claim everything from dozens to hundreds of young black people beating white people as they left State Fair Thursday night.

I read that happened in Iowa too, except an attacker picked on the wrong guy. I'm not sure if the attacker got an ambulance ride or not. He definitely wasn't feeling too good.

My DD had her Sweet Sixteen at the county fair this year. She and her 3 best buddies (2 guys, 2 girls) had wrist bands for all the rides. They were fine until dark...then all the pimps and their prostitutes showed up and suddenly it was like these 4 were the only non-blacks at the fair. They don't ever want to go back again. I had to dodge ambulances and patrol cars to pick them up.

Yeah, it happened last year at the Iowa State Fair as people left the fair grounds. There was an announcement this week that Des Moines Police, Iowa State Patrol and Polk County Sheriff's office are going to be stepping up patrols to prevent a repeat.

We were at the WI State Fair yesterday. Thankfully we left before all of this happened.

I have gone to the WI state fair every year since I can remember. The midway attracts these hoodlums, we stopped going into the midway years ago... its just too creepy (and its NOT the carneys).

This is the third incident this summer where large groups of black youths have attacked in groups, robbing and beating - nearly all victims were white.

Milwaukee is on its way to becoming Detroit if things don't change soon. NO ONE in the black community will step up and call out against these types of actions. The media won't even call it for what it is... racist, hate crimes. Its disgusting. What respectful person would behave like such animals? To beat people up for fun... makes me sick.

I grew up in a suburb of Milwaukee and always took pride in where I lived. We moved to the country 6 years ago and I'm deeply saddened to see what's happened to the city.

When they arrest some of the thugs responsible (and they have arrested about 15 so far), they should throw the book at them, and fine the parents. If the parents can't pay the fine, then take it out of their welfare checks. Until this type of behavior is heavily discouraged, it will continue to ruin events for the whole community.

Who is motivating it? Groups that advocate hatred and violence like the New Black Panthers, Nation of Islam, NAACP under Jackson's increasingly angry rhetoric... just for starters.

Plus black youth are seeing violent mob actions in other places like Chicago, New York, etc. and that they are basically getting away with it, so why not? By the time the cops show up, they're gone, vanished into the crowds.

I mean he intervened when the black man got arrested for verbally assaulting a white police officer but he can't be bothered with this?

WHY is the MSM not covering this? Yeah, I know, I'm asking a stupid question, but seriously, if you have this kind of violence being repeated throughout the country, WHY have I not seen it on ANY news sources before reading it on here? This kind of thing needs to be reported on so that people can be forewarned and make the decision whether they want to attend these fairs or not. I've heard of the flash mobs in NYC, but nothing having to do with fairs.
Also, the people of this country need to hear about it because I believe it is a symptom of a much larger problem that is coming our way. When the economy continues to deteriorate, these roving gangs will become MORE prevalent,and there will be MORE incidents of robbing and beating people to get whatever money/valuables they can.

Sad......we don't go to the fair anymore. Hispanic gangs & young black men make it difficult.

I feel bad, my kids want to go, but I don't feel safe. My son went to the fair when he was 3, had never been back (he's 8 now)...

Hubby & I went out on a date night to the fair 5 years ago. A young black man shoved me roughly from behind, hard enough that I fell, called me a rude racial slur & made some raunchy comments about trading in my white guy for a supposidly more adequate black man (can't type what exactly was said)....Of course hubby was throwing punches before I realized fully what was going on....Two of my attackers buddies jumped hubby from behind & it was quite a mess... I'm still not even sure WHY they jumped us. I pepper sprayed the one who shoved me & was watching the tussle, then sprayed at the two wailing on hubby (accidently sprayed hubby too ) & by that time security & police showed up. Sad thing is, the one who shoved me & called me names was a large guy & only 16.....the other 2 were in their early 20's..

We weren't carrying anything worth stealing, I didn't even have my purse...just petty cash in my jeans pocket, a unicorn hubby won me & my key chain with my pepper spray. We had never seen these men before, & since they came from behind, we couldn't have even given them hostile body language or looks that could have been misunderstood. We didn't look any different than many of the other couples out that night.....the whole thing still confuses me

We heard security has been stepped up, so maybe this year we'll go with the kids, but it will be during the day time if we do...

State law forbids folks beating folks too . Me i stay away from crowds but if i did i would prepare as necessary
