Amy Winehouse Should Have Gone to Rehab

Quote:
Amy Winehouse has been found dead at her home in London, it has been reported.
The Back To Black singer was apparently found at 4pm and her death is believed to be unexplained.
Winehouse had been seen with her goddaughter Dionne Bromfield earlier this week as the teenager took to the stage at the iTunes festival.

They tried to make me go to rehab but I said 'no, no, no'
Yes I've been black but when I come back you'll know know know
I ain't got the time and if my daddy thinks I'm fine
He's tried to make me go to rehab but I won't go go go
I loved her music - a link between the new and the old. Too bad her demons won.

That said, it's still terribly sad, addiction sucks.

Loss of life is never easy to digest. You just never know what people are struggling with. Dying is easy... life is hard. Sometimes it's just easier to end it all. I have known 2 people, 1 was my best friend.. who just decided one day that life was too hard. It hurts everyone around you.

Hoping Lindsay Lohan is taking notes. She will be next if she doesn't rein herself in.

Amy Winehouse was so talented. Her music was so great. She was battling these demons for so many years though, and sadly they have won.

People Magazine has a good little biography on her. Its sad, you can see throughout the years she gets worse and worse.

Shame.
Amy Winehouse was indeed talented. Brilliant. (Lohan is not)

I thought Janis Jolpin died walking back from hotel registration after getting change for a soda machine. According to Wikipedia, she was found dead in her hotel room, as were Jim Morrison and Mama Cash. Mama Cash choked on a sandwich. In some ways, an appropriate end for her.

People die every day from drug and alcohol addiction, I have a real problem feeling sorry for someone with her money and resources wasting her life on drugs. Some poor woman will die today from an overdose in an alley somewhere and I doubt it will rate a headline in the paper.

Choking on a sandwich was a rumor. I heard Cass's daughter on TV and she said it was a heart attack.

That myth has been around since Cass died.

Very sad..so young! I lost my mom at the age of 54yrs old from overdosing on methadone..I never knew she did drugs that heavy..I did know her drug addiction ( I begged her to get some help) started from taking pain pills for her broken neck that ended up being hundreds each month that was prescribed to her over the years ..My mom had alot of mental illness that started when her mother tried to kill her at the age of 4yrs old with a butchers knife..My point is that no one knows why or what caused her addictions..I try not to judge people with drug & alcohol addictions whether they are wealthy or dirt poor like my mom...

I don't think I've ever listened to her music, but her makeup always annoyed me, especially since I worked for awhile with a young woman who insisted upon emulating her exaggerated style. Bleah!

It's always sad to see someone throw their life away. There was no lack of help available to Winehouse had she reached out for it. Not every addict has access to such resources. It's a shame she chose not to make use of them.

I know who she was, but had never heard any of her music until just a few minutes ago on You Tube. While her voice was (IMO) somewhat "generic" as far as female singers sound nowadays, her choice of material was not...I liked what I heard.

So sad that she wouldn't take advantage of the help that was available to her...for whatever reason, I guess she wasn't ready to make the change.
