I've got three air conditioners running to stay cool. Earlier, I went out on the porch to sit and talk on the phone. It is rainy and overcast today, but the forecast is for hotter temps than yesterday. I was outside for about a half hour. When I came inside, my pants felt damp from all of the humidity. I just felt nasty! I will be inside for the rest of the day. Since we got some rain this morning, I don't have to water the garden!

That's normal weather for us in the summer. One morning last week, the low was 85 degrees......but it's a wet heat! Oddly enough, in this part of FL, we never hit 100. It's 90-95 every day for nearly 6 months. Did I mention that I'm moving north- soon!

Worked on the firewood today and cut a rather large red oak and dragged it to were I cut it and split it. I stopped at 10 o’clock as it was getting to hot to work. Took a nice shower and, am now in front of the computer with the AC cranking it is about 74 in here. I was able to get in about 4 hours work before it got to hot.About 90 here right now

Its noon here and 94 w/a heat index of 102. I think they need to change the name for our area. Great plains to central desert. The only way to stay cool is inside. Shade and fans don't help with this humidity.

No temps below 100 for the next 7 days according to the weather....... The burn ban list keeps growing, and we haven't had to mow the grass (except over the septic lines) in I don't know how long. The front yard has totally given up.

Yeah, it's been hot here too. Don't have a/c on this end of the house, and my bdrm was 86 degs at 3 a.m., and it was 100 at 11:30 a.m. They're talking 103 or above tomorrow. Even the ducks were panting in the shade.

It's so hot in the Ozarks that I saw some of those fake plastic palm trees wilting.

True story:

I was deer hunting one afternoon, and watched a fox chase a rabbit around in a cut corn field for so long they both stopped and laid down to rest about 30 ft apart

The rabbit finally decided to leave, and the fox just laid there and watched him go

I keep our "hot" tub set at 93 this time of year and use it regularly. some days I have to add cold water to it to get the temp down to 93 but it really helps. (the capt doesnt hurt a thing either)

Shrek, not us yanks north of the Mason Dixon line! We look at it as snugglin' weather!

I LOVE the hot weather--we're heading up to the mid 90s today--over 100 with the humidity index. Bring it on!

We DO need several good rainstorms though! I'm going to have to buy hay for the goats--the pasture pickings are getting very slim.

No AC here, but the oldtimers knew how to build well-ventilated farmhouses back in the 1800s to catch the breezes off the Lake .
