Hi, transportation specialist, ie. truck driver, chauffeur, drive most wheeled vehicles, pulling trailers, vans, control vans, etc. backing up trailer units, convoys, etc, eqip. checks, enjoy those long hot drives. then ypu'll get to your unit and learn what youre going to be doing foe them, learn about the IEDS and there deployment, pay attention, 88 m, are targets. back when I was in we did all of our own but more and more they are specializing, like the rest of the country, should be a decent job, early rise to feed those field units krats, drive cookie and the food out to location in field.

Your son will be in our prayers too.
We have two boys in the marines, both have Purple Hearts.
God bless America and our soldiers.

I work on Fort Leonard Wood and know where most of the companies are; if you have problems getting a hold of him or such, message me here and let me know. I'd simply need to know what platoon/company/battalion he's in.

Also, the Fort Leonard Wood Garrison Commander is on Facebook and he updates it ALL the time, and he responds quickly to information requests.

That's ok, I took BCT at Ft Jackson many many many years ago. Tank Hill --- Got to Love It!!! Ft Jackson and BCT was fun to me the harder the DI's got on me the More I Loved it. If fact after BCT while I took AIT there as well, my old DI and I would meet up at the NCO Club most every weekend. He did his best to get me to go to DI school , but I would not have any part of it. He was a 20 yr man 2 tour's in Nam as a SF.
He asked me one time why he thought he could break me during BCT. I told him Sgt , I am a 22 yr old man the others are just kids still wet behind the ears. I have been on my own since I was 18 yr paying my own way to collage, my own car, ect. He never looked at my personal file, I was a prankster, in the unit but earned those Buck Sgt strips I got when grad from BCT. After AIT school, I went to Airborne training at Ft Benning, Ga, where I blew a knee and washed out of Jump School. But that's fine with me spent 6 more years in Supply as a truck driver.

no, unfortunately I got discharged for medical problems that they found during basic that they missed at MEPS. I do wish i was still in but if I was probably would have never met my wife or her two kids plus have my first son almost 3 years ago.

The last yr I was in was transferred to Ft McClellan. Reported and went to chow. As I was going through the line a Cpl was serving me some chow. He looked I should have known him. Sitting there eating this Cpl came up and said Ft Jackson 1972, Bravo 7/2 , 4th Platoon, I said yes, when I looked at his name tag, I realized that I did know him we went through BCT in the same platoon. As long as I ate in that Mess Hall and he was on duty , I got feed good, lol
