Attaboy for the military
It's good that people can see how effective the US military can be when they don't have politicians trying to tell them how to do their jobs. It's funny how the politicians have to keep being reminded of that lesson.
Anyway, maybe that'll keep the armchair quarterbacks a bit quieter for a while when they give us their "expert" opinions on the US military.

For sure, but how about and "atta boy", for our own CIA.
After all of their "evil" powers have been taken away over the years, they have wandered around for many years, like ram lambs, who have just been banded.
We would not have pulled this off without them.
It's refreshing to see they can still get something done.

Yep, kudos to our military.
They have a tough job.

Yeah, they did good getting the info, but they're still trying to recover from 9/11 happening without them getting ANY whiff that something big was happening.

Pre-9/11 CIA, was mostly a group of hobbled bureaucrats, compliments of politically correct Americans. We made them act that way.
Apparently that has changed a tad.
Funny thing is, is that evil Liberal Obama, is the one lightening up on the CIA reins. Is he turning into a Conservative?

I'm sure there are a few atta girls in there too. Thank you to your military and my country's best friend and ally. Very much appreciated from this Canadian.
There must be a HT member on that operation's planning team to send a spare helecoptor!!

Yes, remember the rescue of the woman soldier during one of the Gulf Conflicts.
Of course there are also failures, such as the attempted rescue to the American civilians in Iran.

Check out this salute and when you are done, make sure to watch this tribute to one of the members of the SEAL unit that killed OBL. (have some tissues handy)

Great one, Chuck. But shoulda had a 'kleenex warning'.
Here's a suggestion, only about a minute long...quicker than the hugs I tend to give in airports...

Some folks look at the U.S. military with distain. It is probably the highest educated workforce in the world. From what I understand, if you go above E-5 you pretty well need a bachelor's degree. Many officers have MBAs (or equivalent) and some have PhDs. Like a teacher, you need to do continuing education or will likely be passed over.
Although the U.S. military may be a high cost area, it is worth every gaul darn penny.

The problem is many people try to attribute failures to the military when the military isn't always responsible for the failures. I still hear people saying the military lost the "conflict" in Vietnam. Anybody who understands anything about the military can see that the US military(and our allies) kicked butt in almost every engagement during the whole 10 years.
I've heard people talk about the fiasco in Somalia(Blackhawk Down) as a military failure. The only failure involved there was the failure of the President to provide the military with the proper assets to get the job done, and in spite of that the military still did a very good job there.:baby04:

Agreed. And I can say this because my brother-in-law was onsite at the time, involved in BHD.
