What happened to my bicycle?!?!

I was reading "what happened to the honor system" and was reminded of a story. Thought I would put it here instead of sidetracking the other thread.

It seems there was a young preacher whose bicycle came up missing one day, and he was quite distraught that someone in his congregation may have stolen it. He mentioned to one of his faithful followers one day and the gentleman suggested that he do a sermon about it, and see if the guilty party might return it to him. Our preacher agreed that was a good idea, and said he would prepare a sermon on the ten commandments, and when he got to the "thou shalt not steal" portion, had planned to really expound on that commandment in particular. The following sunday, as promised, our good preacher did an excellent job with his sermon on all of the ten commandments, but seemed to place no particular emphasis on theft. After the sermon our gentleman asked him why he hadnt preached heavily about theft to which the preacher sheepishly responded.... well. just to be honest, that was the plan, but when I got to thou shall not commit adultery.... I remembered where I had left my bicycle.

I thought of that joke when I read the thread about the newspapers too.
