I dont know about nations as they are politically controlled by the wealthy but Muslim people, there are some that feel the call to help as my link shows.

People are good or bad, generous or not in all religions.

A nation today doesn't represent all its people. There are good in every nook and corner of the earth as there are also bad.

People are people. Nations are business.

Afghanistan has pledged 50K, the Palestinian Authority and several African countries have offered aid. However, Japan is sort of picking and choosing what aid they will accept because they still don't know what will be needed. So far, more than 100 countries have made offers to aid Japan.

It is hard to find a complete listing of the actual countries that have made offers. These are a few of the names that I was able to glean from several different articles.

Edited to add...Several African countries have also donated and they have large numbers of Muslim citizens, but I wouldn't call them Muslim countries. These would include:

Bhutan, Gabon and Rwanda

I just hope we don't get stuck footing most of the bill. It seems that what happens all too often. Helping is good, but not to the point that it hurts us.

If other countries decide not to give then the responsibility falls back on the affected nation. Japan isn't poverty stricken, despite being dealt this series of disasters. As I stated before, more than 100 countries have pledged assistance in addition to the people around the world who are sending donations to the Red Cross to help in the recovery effort.

Many countries have sent recovery teams, live search dogs, cadaver dogs, special equipment, food water and MONEY.

Iran and Malaysia are both Muslim countres and have offred aid with Iran offering medicine and their expert search and rescue teams who have much experience dealing with earthquake aftermaths.

Most Middle Eastern countries offer financial aid quietly after the need is known, they also offered financial aid to the US after Katrina.

I know that Japan is asking for assistance from all kinds of specialists and that specialists from around the world are arriving in Japan to help. Our own earthquake recovery team that we sent over, when they got there they weren't expecting or equipped for the whole nuclear reactors thing happening now so they had to come back home today to get better equipped and some extra training for dealing with radiation. I don't know how long that will take before they can get back to Japan with different equipment.

The team said the situation in Japan is 100 times more devestating than what it was like when they were in Haiti and that desolation and despair is setting in with many of the Japanese people's spirits.
