Reactor #3 Japan

"Partial defect" in the containment vessel and "not necessarily stable."
BBC Live
Sounds like breaking news to a small child. 'Your turtle is very, very sick....

There's not much point in you posting stuff like this if you aren't going to post the link to the news source as well.

It's about as hard as posting the link in the first place.

Not for me it isn't, but it is for people who are on dial up and have to do an internet search to find it and then do a search there for whatever article or broadcast it is that the OP is going on about.

I do not post links because I do not trust links. I once got a virus by hitting a link I thought was trustworthy, never again. I will not encourage others to do what I will not.
The source is there if you wish, or you can research on your own, or not.

Edited to add: I don't know why the link says Middle East. It takes you to the Asian news page with up to date info on what is happening in Japan.

Amazing how a play on words changes things. There is a partial defect "inside" the containment vessel which according to other sites is the reactor "inside" the containment vessel. The site your referenced does not say there is a partial defect "in" the containment vessel.

Merchants of misinformation and paranoia abound.

Are you trying to say a rock in my shoe doesn't mean my shoe is broken?

Not at all, the situation is very serious but if the containment vessel was breached it would be a much bigger issue that would potentially impact millions of people. That could still happen but does anyone really think its a bright idea to jump the gun and scare people more than they already are? Lots of folks have friends and family in Japan including me.

50 people staying at the plant. Many employees evacuated.
BBC live

50 people (heroes) I think 6 reactors there, 3 in emergency status. Temporary pumps to run, monitors to monitor, comms, etc. This sounds like a skeleton crew or less
Me.

I need a sarcasm smiley. I was agreeing with you. Some folks don't get the difference in "in" and " inside ". The term meltdown throws them into a tizzy and feeds their anti-nuke paranoia.

Yea I should have caught that, I'm just very concerned. My last duty before I retired was as a GPOI trainer in the Pacific rim and I have quite a few friends in Japan and I also have a son on his way to Japan with the AF.

"WE" as in "everyone", since just giving the name of a site doesn't mean you will find the story being referenced.

And it's true that you couldn't have seen it without going there, so saying you're "afraid" of links really doesn't make sense at all.

There's no way YOU could get a virus by copying and pasting the link to a site you're already on
