Military Service?

I have someone from my past that I just talk to and he said he went to Annapolis Naval Acadamy. I know this person to be a liar, I feel he is feeding me BS so here is my question. Is there a way of find out if someone was in the military without them knowing, and is there a way to find out if they went to the Naval Acadamy? All this would need to be done legally.

I tried to use the web sight using 2 names the was the person I am talking about and nothing came up. Then I put in my ex husband name who I know survied in the Guard and nothing came up. How do you use this web sight to find who servied end the military?

Next time he brings it up ask to see his academy ring. If he starts humming and hawwing start pressing him on details; year he graduated, who the commander was, what his room was like, etc.

He is not telling you the truth, I guess he has to much salt water in his ears. Like some of the others have said press him for answers, but you and all that have posted he didn't go the the Navel Academy

If the person claims to have attended or graduated from the US Naval Academy at Annapolis, then there should be a paper trail (year books, and other online resources - not Wikipedia) to verify their claims.. The US Dept. of the Navy, has reams of documentation for every applicant and graduate and instructor of the Naval Academy!

I can tell you that when us Marine Corps Veterans find someone claiming to have been a Marine and have a question if they ever were, we have certain ways of verifying their service. Two or three specific questions that only a 'Marine' would know the answers - will let one know if they are 'blowing smoke', or not!! If they don't pass muster, we have several ways of discouraging them from making such false claims in the future.

Thanks everyone for the info I did ask some questions. I told him that I would like to see some of those one of this days he said some like "What does it matter". The fact is I know he is lying but I just love having some fact to back it up if you know what I mean. Cindy

I don't know what your relationship is with this person but what does it
matter to you? If you think he is a liar why are you even associating with
him? I've met a few people in my life who I suspected of being chronic
liars and I just kind of steered clear of them...
