I'd like to see what 'race' is entered because I've heard speculation that, according to the birth certificate, we might not have our first black president after all.

I suspect the best way to deal with it is to do as apparently some states have. If you want to be listed on the ticket you first have to provide an original or certified copy of your birth certificate. Works for me as long as all of the candidates have to follow the same rule.
As I recall Thomas Jefferson had a bit of 'black' blood in him, and it has proven, at least to me, he had children with a black slave.

Hehe, it's in the LA Times. The Gov. Of Hawaii wants to charge $100.00 for a certified copy to cover expenses! They don't say what type of cert it is though! :smiley-laughing013:

The state of Hawaii has considered selling information pertaining to his birth records for 100. Not 1000. AND, it is not his birth certificate. That would be an incredibly illegal thing to do, if they could even find it. It is simply some of the records they have pertaining to his birth. Nothing concrete, but think how much money folks will spend to see whatever they can legally show.....

Its not totally false, its 100 dollars and not 1000. There are 5 democrats there trying to get a law pushed through to do this. Theres a whole thread on it in the Politics forum

Yes, TJ has a good many descendants of all sorts including black with his slave Sally.
He, himself was not black.
