the DR was weird

had the last part of my c&p exam yesterday, after a couple of rescheduleds, and was confused.
was told it will take a min,of 3 hrs.took @45-50 mins
did not ask/talk about any of my claims.
only did a very basic exam(heart lungs b/p pulse),but nothing else.
i tried to show her my right hand and feet, didnt want to look.
had chest and knees x-rayed before i got there because i was told to,had to retake them for her.had blood drawn......... 9 vials, and had blood drawn on 21st allready.
only asked if i had been in conflict, which i said yes,i was in panama, persian gulf and pentagon. she said she didnt need to know this.
told her about my hearing loss, said go get a hearing test upstairs.
i just thought i would have been more indepth.i was told this was gonna be a full complete physical.
just a little confused and wondering
thanx
tom

Either the doc had a *really* bad day, or you need to find a new one. That appointment has all the signs of incompetence. Run away.

I agree with Alice! The doctor should have been willing to listen to your concerns and any background that may be significant to whatever condition(s) you may have.

Apparently she doesn't understand what being a doctor is all about.

I would wait for them to process all the results of your tests (give them a few weeks) then get copies of all tests and go to a new doctor who will actually listen.

A c&p exam is only offered at the VA by one DR. I think she heard enough to pass a judgment. When you said you were in a conflict that is all she would need to help you to become disabled. That is all the exam is for not because you have trouble. Other DR will look at that part.

Our lovely government run healthcare at work (yes, we had government run healthcare in place long before the fiasco of a healthcare bill passed). Lazy, noncaring, noncommittal doctors. There is no reason for her to care; she gets paid the same whether she does or not.

CF I am new at this- she may be a pro or what others have called her. Write down what you have here with more detail- ie how undressed she had you get, what she seemed to examine (did she have you do 3 repetitions of motions or actually touch or have you undress your hand or feet). Then if the pension claim is denied ask for the report and challenge it if it is based on an exam or history which you can deny took place (make an MFR now). I usually take 3 hours when they give me 3 hours. But in 3 hours they want me to assess 20+ problems not just hands and feet.

Anyway if she has your records she may already have the reports from your doctors and not need to repeat some of the exams. And i am in a different area- maybe different rules.

He is complaining about Post traumatic stress and the DR will have enough to base an opinion in the 40 minuets and not examining what is wrong with him in other ways. She didn't care about his feet or hands but how he copes with stress.

That's what I make of it. If he means "Compensation and Pension" for C&P, the objective is only to determine eligibility for benefits. Once that objective is met then there is no point in spending any more time with the examination. The good news is that an examination that's cut short that way is a strong indicator that the benefits have been approved.

If he wants to discuss particular health issues then he should make an appointment for that, not expect the C&P examination to include a medical consultation.

No call for that. See above.

She could have communicated why she didn't want to look at those issues at this time. If his report is accurate, she treated him like a piece of meat. Communication would have solved the problems.
