Everyone eventually runs out of juice. Ironically his fresh juiced oriented health diet started due to childhood resparitory issues according to his commercials selling his juicer and it was pnuemonia that did him in.

Sad. I remember watching his exercise show when I was a kid. He was impressive.

I remember his exercise program back in the days of b/w TV. I guess all that exercise and juice really worked.

Ironically cigar-toting George Burns lived until 100!

I remember my mom watching his show when I was a kid, and all of the stunts he used to pull to demonstrate his strength. Seemed he liked to swim around while towing a boat with his teeth and stuff?? Usually on his birthdays, I think.
Since I don't have a decent juicer, I think I'll go have a glass of V-8 and give a toast in his honor.

I guarantee Jack had better health, vigor, mobility, etc, and I really doubt George Burns was able to swim and lift weights up until the week he died

Ummm, why would he want to? It would only get his cigar wet. Not taking anything away from Jack here, he was an inspiration to many...... but in the end, he's just as dead as the guy who smoked and drank and ate all the wrong things all of his life. God aims to kill every one of us at some point, and there is not much we can do to stop it. He did squeeze out one year more than my great grandfather though, he only made it to 95.... shot by a jealous husband.

Pneumonia got him. It's that nasty cold at Morro Bay. That winter sea air goes right through you. I know, I used to live in San Luis Obispo and it was just as nasty there in the winter.
He should have retired in Vegas.

Its good to know we agree on some things anyway! I lived in Ca. for several years, and am familiar with those "nasty winters". I have also lived lots of years where winter is an actual season, complete with subzero temps for months, snow measured in feet, and is piled up around the house for insulation.

I believe it was Mary Twain who said, "The coldest winter I ever spent was a summer in San Francisco." That cold, wet weather is idea for incubating pneumonia.

I'd take that over Vegas any day, summer or winter, spring or fall
