I LOVE the last two lines of the article.......

Tax office officials said Rutherford told deputy constables that he had the cash to pay the taxes.

"If you would have called, I would have paid it," Rutherford said.

************************************************** *
I guess he doesn't consider those pesky little tax notices, that he receives in the mail, worthy of his interest????

Sounds a lot like a Missouri mule and a farmer. The farmer was seen to smack the mule between the eyes with a 2"x4".
Of course the horrified bystander protested loudly as to why such treatment. The farmer's only response:

"First, you got to get his attention!"

They can have my Bentley when they pry it from my cold, dead fingers!

Oh wait, I drive a 1998 Sienna with 220,000 miles. I guess they already got the Bentley (in the form of my taxes!).
