I Want Some Construcive Ideas to 'Restructure'

Don't read anything into tie post about 'whining' or 'drama'.
Not about that, but I'm interested to have some ideas to
consider going forward in my homesteading life and interests
From both the past and now.

On my mind is a building well constructed had a store and
shop, tall 12 ft ceiling, well insulated concrete quiet and
stable against strong wind or weather. In other words, usable
for something I want to be doing more with it next to my
homestead dwelling. It's zoned commercial, not residential.
After divorce settlement and straddled with some ongoing
debt, yet I am thinking more use there without restarting
Another specific business and all that entails.
Half of the inside is shop and supplies I used to be involved
with specialty sport fishing equipment stuff, custom rods
and some tools go along with that. I considered a local group
to lease it and let that side of business operate with me as
sort of trainer/ consultant get them going and keep involved
that way. I still may, but I want to consider what else to do there.

My interest is more raising birds. I know what ya'all say to
Use the biuilding for hatching, etc. well, that's an ' idea' but
it's still 'business' I want less of.
Not many around here I wish to thrash around these thoughts
locally without getting exaustingly bored with them.
So, let's see what you think?

Well, there are only so may eggs and poultry a person can eat!

If you are not wanting to sell, what bird-related things CAN you do? I have heard of rotating geese through tall vegetables to eat the grass and the weeds, but I cannot think of anything else!

Not sure if your location is ideal for this or not, but what about a flea market/antique mall type of set-up? Part of the lease agreement for vendors could be taking turns working the counter during the hours you don't want to be there. Could choose to limit days/hours of operation so it's not burdensome to you.

Right. This past spring my geese laid tons of eggs I tried
incubating, but my gander was sterile! Word locally that
I could sell some goslings for decent price.
This was really the first year I expanded with fowl. Hatched
and sold over 100 purebred audtralorp chicks. Ducklings are
not in demand, but interesting as hobby birds.
I got into game birds, which I like really well, especially
Chukars. I'm planning to hatch a bunch next spring.
As for geese eggs, again there is a small market women
in the Easter egg decorating craft (Ukrainian) looking for
making each egg worth more....see where this goes.

The other thing is I'm back to getting some normality with
Two jobs, but I want much less about business, haggling and
all that sort of thing:
Callie, good ideas, but that's just not for me. And I've had also
My fill of craft shows in the past. It's too much time away from the
Stead. Then, if I set up on site, I would have to quit a paying
job that I yet need to keep. I know, it sounds difficult. That's why
I listen to creative discussion. Thanks😊

I considered a similar arangement, but not with vendors.
I have trust issues with strangers to be on site 'sharing'
work hours and such. Also insurance costs and all that crap.
Lol. The group I was negotiating with was a known local
bus. development agency looking to invest in their youth to
Train some sorts of skills and also make money operating
a store. This, I had....could possibly re develop. It fell through,
They were interested to be sure, but were fully invested from
their funding already. I may have not caught them s the right
Time.....as they say...."being at the right place at the right time"!
