Something there is that doesn't love a wall

Winter isn't done with a lot of you all yet. But, I pray the worst and whatever has gone wrong, due to the latest bitter cold, has. Hopefully, there have been people that you could call on for help when you needed it. From a single's perspective, often you're the only one who's responsible for the planning, preparation, and completion of your home and/or vehicle maintenance. What lessons, if any, have you taken away from whatever troubles old man winter has brought you?

Me? Procrastination is bad! I didn't check on the heat tape in the well house this fall. I always do. But, not this past fall. I should have done more car maintenance prior to winter. Last year it was tuned up and it started every day. The tiller belt broke for the second time last summer and I didn't till up the garden. Now I'll have to play catch up so it's tilled and ready for planting. Spring being spring, it's very unpredictable. That means I'll have to let the weather dictate the best time to fix it. So, I mostly know what to do and when. Now I gotta get my lazy butt to doin' it on time. How 'bout you?

I am always behind getting stuff done. Part of the reason is this infernal laptop such ease of information keeps me reading way to much. I do love it though. It has also been the wettest year here I ever remember. The sun is finally shining but the mud is ankle deep.

This year I am on time, and that *IS* a rarity!

I had the tiller serviced at the hardware store and most of the seeds have been ordered. I am testing the new heating pad for seedlings with a piece of ginger broken off from the bigger piece in the fridge. I am satisfied with the heat: as for the ginger it might grow or it might not!

Yeah Larry. The internet will eat your soul. A couple more degrees on my thermometer and I'm forcing myself out the door. There's two long sides of my back area that I'm going to try starting to prune into a living fence. Mud? I reckon I'm like elk. Let's stomp a hole in it! That's what they make tall mucking boots for.

If the little jeep will make it out we are headed to the grocery, its that muddy. If not we'll clean out the big jeep and take it. lol When we get back its time to cut more wood, change the oil in small generator. Then if there is time clean some junk out of the power building and start hooking up the new solar panels we put up. I finally have all the correct parts I think.

Larry

Oh yeah I also want to run down to the creek and see if I can get a pic of the rocks I would like to use to build with. They are probably under water though.

This is the year of ruthless budgeting- starting the Dave Ramsey class tonight. I want all debt paid off before the end of this year- everything!

1. Getting ticked off and giving away / burning all the wood was a bad idea.
2. Not getting 4-5 dump trucks full of stone, and redoing the drive way, was a bad idea.
3. Being here, one more winter, will kill me. Gotta move.
