To me.... courtship is much more intensely focused...the love is already there.... and your every desire is to please your beloved..

Is it too presumptuous to presume that both are to be courting each other? Or is it just the male doing the courting as in the peacock style? What is the females part of the ritual?

This may turn into a good thread or it has potential to be a train wreck, I'm sticking around to observe, maybe learn a thing or two. But it is going to be entertaining for sure.

I suppose it starts with a date and if there is a "spark" it eventually becomes courting. When I was single and went out on a date with a new man, I was hoping for good conversation and a nice evening out. Of course, in the back of my head I was always sizing him up and wondering if he could be the right one for me.
When there is a spark and two people start to spend more time together and realize this may be the one, it becomes courting.
Some of us "stronger personality" women prefer the men to be the ones courting...let a man be a man. There is nothing more attractive than a man who knows what he wants and goes after it.

She is saying that she wants to be wooed. She wants to be treated like a lady and shown the attention and respect she deserves. She wants flowers (even picked from the garden), sweet notes, walks through the trees, quiet moments together on the porch.....
She wants to be romanced. Deep down, that is what most women want...to be treated like a lady by a man being a real man.
