Saw on the news, People marrying at older ages

Average age men 27 women 24. Says that our generation taught them to wait and make sure its right
Said that people used to get married and use that marriage as a foundation for starting there lives. Now, there waiting till theyve got there ducks all in a row before marrying. Its not the foundation anymore, its the capstone.
Sounds smart to me.

I think that people are less ready to marry when they are younger than my generation was. 18 year olds tend to be less independant, and so it is not surprising that they are less ready to marry when they are 20!

Shoot FBB, I thought you were talking about OLDER, like, as in us. Not those kids of mine...lol!

They have more debt (student loans), they have a far more difficult time it seems getting independent at all (i.e. not living with a parent) and many of them do trial runs before actually tying the knot.

I think the kids in there teens/20s have seen divorce, broken homes, bitterness, hard financial times due to breakup, hatered ect, and it has soaked in. It did with my boy. he waited till he was in his mid 20s before getting married, and he now says he is thinking of takeing a course in his church for becomeing a Deacon. My DD on the other hand is on her 3rd hubby. She started hooking up while in HS. She cant have kids. Maybe she keeps shucking men hopeing that its them, not her. BOTH tho are doing fine. Boy is a foreman where he works. DD is a bookeeper/account, and she says they like her and her work.

If 27 and 24 are "older age for marrying" then I'm scr..... in big trouble.
