She asked me to give her a wake up call but then hung up on me
She had to go to work early this morning and I had a late night evaluation and debug to do so our usual morning routine was hosed for today.
Since she knows she is hard to get up when off her normal schedule she asked me to call her on both her land line and cell if needed to make sure she got up at 0230 to be at work by 0500.
I called her land line and she got up and we talked as she went to the kitchen to start her coffee before going to the can to brush her teeth for the slaying of the morning dragon breath and tongue crude before her morning coffee to neutralize the SLES of the toothpaste before her breakfast and second tooth brushing or mouth rinse of the morning.
She put the phone on speaker as she started brushing her teeth and I heard her cussing her dead electric toothbrush and I asked if the charger was plugged in.
After a short and snippy "Yes I checked to see if it was plugged in, I AM AN ENGINEER if you recall, I responded by saying "yes we are both of engineering background, however I believe I have a bit more experience in electrical and mechanical engineering tasks and customer phone in support and can probably troubleshoot this over the phone for you."
I then said "Based on what I heard you have the toothpaste on your dead brush so put it back in your mouth, then mechanically move your elbow so the brush moves back and forth and up and down on your teeth as the drive wheel arm on a steam locomotive. Spit as required and hum the song "Locomotion" to yourself to time your brushing to approximately two and a half minutes as you work your way around your teeth.
When I go to town today to buy new bit sets for my Dremel tool would you like me to pick up a new electric toothbrush and charger for you?"
She hung up on me_____or possibly threw the cordless phone into the toilet.

She called me after she got to work and told me to pick her one up and she will pay me for it when she gets home. Then she said she knew life was getting too high techno when folks dont think to use a toothbrush in low tech style in a pinch .
She told not to expect any apology for her lack of early morning common sense because she was a woman and entitled to a dumb strawberry blond moment once in awhile and I was a smart alack about it . Dating a she nerd engineer is great.

A world where tooth brushes must be plugged in, is not a world i wish to live in
Hope she remembered to charge her toilet paper!

I was thinking the same thing. I know I must really be behind times. I don't own a microwave, I don't own a bunch of gadgets the need plugged in, don't have cable tv and don't own a land line. I want to keep my life as simple as possible and I know how to work my own toothbrush. I just wish I had someone to bring me morning coffee, now how hard is that?

I really like and use the microwave.
I was married years back and the diningroom light had quit working. (not the bulb) and I walked in to the room one day and husband was flipping the switch on the wall up and down. I said what you doing? He said fixing it. I got the heck out before I started laughing. No he did not fix it. It is just women (blondes) but men too. I could tell you a bunch more, garden tractor, toilet tank and such. I told him the tank did not work that way and told me to fix to work that way or he would call the plumber. Plumber told him it did not work that way.
There are days like that. I do have some electric kitchen things. Need to figure out how to use or get rid of. No electrical stuff in the bathroom. Just lights and if the light goes off on the ceiling I will call my son to put me a new bulb. I have the bulbs and as they go out changing to curly ones.
I have no TV as need cable here or dish. No free TV reception here. One telephone company here and that is high. I would like TV for news and few things. But other things come first.

Its a lot harder then you think. Explain to someone you want to build and move off the grid, have a garden, have chickens etc. Ya tend to lose most guys when they realize they will not be having their big screen tv's and there will be a lot of work involved.
Oh yeah, and add relocating and building and setting up from scratch. Yep, it is like a needle in a haystack type of deal.

I live in the PNW right now but in a couple of months have my eye on a piece of property that is closer to the desert part of Oregon. It is 30 miles from my father and close to the lake where he has 3 boats. I have a lot of fishing and hunting to catch up on. And he has a snow mobile he needs to teach me to ride.
This gives you a general idea of where it is and the area.

And this river which runs through the town and is across the street from where I am buying.

The red head I think comes from my mothers side of the family, the Mullins, who ever they are or were.
You are closer to Wyld if you are talking WA.

This entire area is beautiful, lack of electric toothbrushes and all, lol. Sorry Shrek, you are on your own there.
For the record I don't own a electric toothbrush and I have never had a cavity.

Aflush with creative writing. A fun read.
When my my wisdom teeth were removed so was over half of everything that I thought that I knew. At least it was about the same time. I wonder if attached were really the roots of my knowledge.

I know what the problem was Shrek. You're a guy, and she's a girl. Guys love fixing things... give us a problem, and we'll go to work on it. Girls like fixing things too, but alot of time their communication is more about sharing a feeling than seeking advice. This is why guys aren't always the best to go to when a girl needs a shoulder to cry on... what she wants is to simply vent, not have the toolbox taken out.
(what's funny is, sometimes I'll ask them "do you just need someone to vent to or are you looking to fix it?"... and they don't like that either, lol!)
I must say, were it not for "Men are from Mars, Women from Venus" I don't know how I'd get through the week.

I'm off to get some dinner and deliver a tooth brush.
