Found an easy way to sharpen my machete

While on the phone I laid it on top of the radiator and the blade heated up to vinyl seat in the sun hot.

When I started stone sharpening it with my large G.I. combat knife stone my father gave me I was able to dress the edge in just a few minutes.

The last time I stone sharpen that machete it took over an hour and it wasnt as dull as it was today.

This summer before I sharpen my tools I may heat them in the sun in the bed of my pickup with the bedliner in it if holds the edge for at least a few days of brush hacking.

sharpen one from any state of dulliness in less than 5min. stick the tip in the stake hole of your truck at the tail gate bend the blade into a arc and hold w/your belly and take a file and run file straight up and down blade. you dont need to go to grip and dont need to sharpen around curve at tip you cant cut close to handle or with tip. you can open the jaws of a vice and hook tip under one jaw and bend over other jaw and it will work the same. with machatte you must use a slashing motion even more than an axe. sharpen like described and slash and youre home free good luck
