Favorite Homesteading related movie
Tonite going to watch one of my favorite movies The adventures of the Wildness Family. Even tho it's not factual in how a true wildness family would live I still enjoy it a lot. Do you have a favorite homesteading related movie?

It is a Lifetime series by Michael Landon's son...Love's Journey (or something like that). Great romance as well as the "homesteading" life factor.

I love Open Range. Not really about homesteading. But homesteady nonetheless.

Great list, Elk. Where the Red Fern Grows is awesome...and so sad. Old Yeller is a tear jerker for sure!
I have to add Little House on the Prairie to the list . My daughter and I love to watch that together.

Maybe Spencer's Mountain or The Homecoming/A Christmas Story. The 2nd one is the movie that became the foundation for the Walton's series on TV.

I'd probably like that one? I suffered from tv overload, when I got the chance/time to look at it. Reality shows were more or less BS shows.

Never even heard of it, Shan? Better take a look/see, or subscribe?.
the waltons. Yes! Had satellite at the pod I lived in, in ND. Very good show!
old yeller. yes, in jr high or HS. I bought two black mouthed cur pups because of seeing the show. One dog was a letdown, but the last more than made up for it!
the yearling. no?
where the red fern grows, yeppers, in HS. It was required reading and then they showed the movie. Excellent choice, from my point of view!
I've got that on a CD. not very many westerns are period portrayed, but it was close enough for me. Robert Duvall is an awesome actor!

Reason: had satellite tv, not internet. :)

Its the usual thing here when a poster puts out a specific posting that people see how soon they can divert it from that origional post to heck knows where.
What do cowboy movies have to do with homesteading? Good as they are, They are in their own cataglory, and thats westerns, not farming or homesteading.

I'm watching Secondhand lions tonight while I enjoy griddle grilled steaks and taters and try to forget the rain outside my door.

Shrek... that's another great one. Pretty much anything with Duvall in it is.
