What's up this evening?

Let's see am I as fun as I think or is life normal as ever?

Filed the chains, made up some chili(takes all day) for the boy and me after he gets back from film night, cleaned the bathroom and vacuumed, laundry done, ran the dogs and the rest of everyone else outside is good to go. Now I'm going to head to the cave and plan(stare at) what next on the car the saws and the stoves, then settle in with a tall glass of orange kool-aid, maybe loosen up the pool and/or ping pong tables(not so much fun alone), all the while with AC/DC, Metallica, RamJam and who ever else blasting on the radio. I do have my best to girls with me though, daughter(she doesn't do chili) just finished painting my nails(great when you forget to remove before work) and my trusty Bernard is stuck to me like glue when ever I'm home.

Life on a Sunday evening. Hey what should be for dinner tomorrow? Any ideas for next Sunday evening?

The sign of a real man, not afraid to admit to getting your nails painted!

My day consisted of taking the youngest to basketball practice and afterwards the coach wanted to take them to Pizza Hut. Tried to do a little Christmas shopping while she was practicing. Didn't have much luck. Brought pizza home for the other kids and have been playing around with designing MoonRiver's house. Now I'm here.

I have an exciting life also.......

Spotted Owl, tell me about painting your nails....man. I spent all day running a pole saw and a husky and to tell you the truth, I see no advantage in it.

Okay I'm having deja vu. I just heard Zong say....."I am seeing a pattern"

Cleaned house drove over 50 miles to go tend to horses. Returned home to have the land lord shut our water off again.

Wildhorse, I chipped a nail while sharpening the husky, but luckily they were false and so all I had to do was replace the dang thing before I got into the baking, listening to Jim Croce, ironing my Sunday shirts, and taking the dogs for a romp. Don't have any kids so the big pot of lima beans and cornbread from yesterday was a blessing in disguise. Disguise? Did I say that?

Anyway, I'd say I'd like all those colors....alternating fingers of course, that would give me one more black nail than blue or purple...but what's a minor detail like that?

Ladies, nail painting is a fine art in this house. She "needs" practice and she "can't" practice on her own nails, now can she? Being darned near color blind I will say that I have, as I have been told(with a giggle) two shades of green, purple, red, orange and yellow. Of coarse all have sparklies. I will not mention what my toes have going on.

Glazed have you not let your young lass to paint your nails too. The Dad thing may make it a tad different though. But like I tell her. IIIII dunnno mmmmm I spose you're worth it kiddo. How can you say no to a tray of finger molly polish and a great big smile, even if she is a teeager? Looks like a fine party to be had. This time of year and no sweaters, that would a great thing. No waste of chili here but what is a stacked huevos rancheros? Think meat and potato's, logger style cooking here.

foxfire, change it up to Stihl and then your nails shall not be chipped. Work the saw don't let the saw work your nails. Painted nails are OK so long as all is dry before the saw starts in the morning. If they're still tacky then the saw dust sticks to them and it just isn't a good thing. Also got the bread made for the week after everything dried up. What Husky do you run, 372, 395, 3120 or do you go with the stand-by's like the 2100? The 2 series were hard to beat and much was lost when they went to the threes. A good ole 046 mag is darned hard to beat though. Unless your in big stuff the the 84 gets unleashed. I'm filing chain right now as I type/read and watch the movie Safe with the curtain climbers.

No ma'am, seem like I should be sorry to say I don't. Maybe a touch embarrassed also. Should I ask what they are?

I know beans, taters, and meat, most of the time I throw in veggies too. You never know when that vitamin may come in handy. The kids always say, "OOOO, look if Dads not careful he's gonna get a vitamin". Timber fallers may eat bland and basic, but, we eat good. Used up the last two packages of elk today. Good thing season is coming quick. When we get a couple down and readied up, you gonna need some? Usually cook for several guys on the football line as well so a lot gets cooked around here. Them boys need their strength, and they isn't shy about gettin it neither.

I'm so glad that I didn't say that first. I just about spit kool-aid on the screen. Then just about choked when I read this.

Okay, so, this is what I do ... I get me a few corn tortillas, and I fry them in oil (i use coconut oil) until they are starting to get crispy (actually they are kinda chewy/firm but softened) ...And I layer them in paper towels to soak up the extra oil.

I lay one on a plate, and plop some seasoned ground meat and fried potatoes on there ... maybe a dollop of leftover chili ... chopped onion, cheese ... and then I put another tortilla on top of that ... and plop some more meat and taters and onion and cheese ... and then another tortilla with some more of the good stuff ... THEN I fry an egg and put it on top ... drizzle it with leftover chili if you have some.

And, then, VOILA!!! you have huevos rancheros, my friend

You can even serve this with a side of avocados and pinto beans, too.

You got your meat and taters and beans and veggies ... and it doesn't HAVE to be bland.
