A Love Story In 22 Pictures

Do we personally know people with this level of love and commitment?

Do we have it in us to love and commit ourselves to someone through their healing?

Very awesome thread! Thanks, Laura. And to think today I was whining to myself about being tired from work and a mountain of chores at home. This couple surmounted just about everything life had to throw at them and came out winners. Winners in attitude, commitment, perseverance and love. Pretty darn impressive.

I don't know of many people who if something like this happened before they were married could survive the trauma. Nice to see that some can.

There are couples who will and can. But far and few between for sure.
I do know of one couple that have survived thru 50 yrs of marriage
He's had a bout with cancer twice that I know of.
It took me awhile,, but I finally figured out loving someone in a relationship is about choice. Not emotions. I'm an emotional sort, but its still pretty easy to choose to love someone regardless of faults, blemishes etc.
Emotions come and go, but I can choose to love someone thru our problems. Constant communication and equal desire to choose to love and make a relationship work is needed for both.
It takes two to communicate,,, just one to walk away.

Yeah... that *IS* a great one!

Edited to add: no 2 people look for the same thing in a spouse. But, when there is warmth and caring and trust, it is wonderfull!

Yes I do know alot of people like that--they are the norm.

It is a beautiful story, but it is one told all the time. That kind of commitment is not only evident in situations where arms and legs are missing. People with love and commitment heal all the wounds. We just don't have pictures of it. At all points in our lives, sometimes we are the wound, sometimes the salve.

Well don't feel bad I want Laura also, but I am double butt ugly. And she is in NW Washington State. We might have some slight chance if she was ugly also.

I knew I didn't say that right.
Its a woman that has the same ability to see thru a mans mishap with-out slamming him. But instead, loves him anyway knowing she is loved.
I still didn't get it right.
Anywho,,, it beats walking on eggs being afraid to say the wrong thing.
I call that mental abuse. Maybe some women can't think that a woman can possibly do that to man if in fact he is a real man.
Well,,, it can and does happen.
Its that opposites attract thing I guess.
Judgmental and controlling vs nonjudgmental and live and let live attitude.

I think it is very nice and great to see someone so in love that they don't let the obstacles stand in their way. Thanks for sharing Laura!

Loved seeing the pictures and all the emotion that was put into each shot. My heart goes out to both of them and all that they have gone through. They love each other and that is so awesome to see. Love conquers all.
