My order from Firesteel.com
This is what I ordered.
This is what I got.
Checkout how thick the strikers are.
I am very pleased to say the least.

Got a couple of those at the gun show a few weeks ago,
even got a small block of magnesium. My boys had fun scraping some mag. on some wood chips, and using the back of their new knives to scrape the striker..
Wow,,, that was fun...

Hope you're not so excited, you're using them in the house? First ones I had, I was scratcing fires everywhere!
I've had a few similiar in my youth. Any more I just carry a bic. I don't smoke, but anytime I feel some pyro coming on, it's easy to amke it happen. Generally one in my britches, and in winter there are two or three in coat pockets, and coveralls.

OK, I am *really* dogtired...it's been a long hot day... and then I read this post toooo fast, and these bits kinda jumped out...I bust out laughing, and thought 'fortunately every day ends with an evening'. And so this evening turned out to be not bad after all... *still giggling*

You plug them into your USB port when you want to burn a disc...

They are ferrocerium rods or fire starters. You rub the striker down the rod and it will throw sparks.
